    Updating. Had to reboot a couple of times prior as Defender wouldn't open and had the warning sign on it.

    I wish MS would teach WU to be a little bit smarter and delay Defender updates just for a few minutes if it's co-mingled with any Cumulative. Do them after the restart. Not always, but I've had my share of collisions.

    This was a rather unpleasant surprise during my habitual manual check for updates . I wonder what MS hosed up. Can’t say I noticed anything wrong

    There is no reason for defender updates to go through WU.
