KB4524244 Security update for Windows 10 - February 11 Win Update

Microsoft signed a Kaspersky bootloader that could be used to bypass Secure Boot on any PC (!), then revoked it last Tuesday (that was what took two reboots if you had Cred Guard enabled). Now there are in turn issues with that fix.

1. Sign Kaspersky UEFI Rootkit (oops, “loader”) even though this wasn’t what the program was meant for, putting *everyone* at risk thanks to the DB policy.
2. Finally release revocation (thanks @int0x6)
3. Pull back the release and indicate you won’t offer it anymore.

Judging from a series of cryptic tweets by security experts, this update and its revocation are tied to a situation involving Kaspersky Rescue Disk and a signed bootloader that can circumvent the Secure Boot feature that is the bedrock of security on modern PCs.

OK, if MS pulled this KB, why is still on my system? WU auto installed it on my system on 02/13/2020, the day after the CU (KB4532693) was installed by the Patch Tuesday WU update. WU checked for updates at 6:58 PM ET on 02/15/2020 and KB4524244 is still installed.
Manually selected WU check for updates from the WU page at 10:12 AM ET 02/16/2020 and it says everything is up to date with KB4524244 still installed. Very confused and a tad irritated.
Should I uninstall KB4524244?

I had to use Macrium , went back to February 10 ........Im glad I did !

I have a system image prior to the Patch Tuesday CU, so we’ll see.

Update: Ran the uninstall of KB4524244 from the Installed Updates page and of course, it did not uninstall. Will recover from the last System Image I have. More wasted time maintaining W10. Thanks bunches MS.

2nd Update: So if one isn't running Kaspersky software, are you at risk with this KB installed?

3rd Update: I did another power off & boot up. The Control Panel display of installed programs does not list KB4524244 now. Yes, it's still in the Update History list on the Windows Update History page. I'm guessing the update has been removed from my system. Gotta love Windows as a service!
