Jimbo, the UUP Dump works perfectly, as we all know. What does no longer work, and what we have been talking about, is the Ten Forums UUPtoISO tool. I stopped updating it when UUP Dump was released, because it made our UUPtoISO tool obscure, unnecessary.

Just curious, Kari. Can you either take that tutorial down or have Admin do it? Seems to me it would save a lot of folks some time trying to use it. Especially if they just try the tutorial and don't read to the end of the thread.

Which uup are you talking about—uuptoiso or uupdump? Big difference!

People having issues, select the option as I do always at UUP dump. This way, the downloaded files get converted to ISO without any user intervention. It doesn't require any additional software to do the job.

Yup, they are talking about the tool (deprecated now as per the tutorial) in Kari's tutorial. What I showed doesn't require any other tool.

Unless you want to create a bootable USB stick in which case Rufus is useful.

I create ISO first using this method and then create a bootable USB using Rufus and this created ISO. Works everytime.

When it became clear that the tool would require again an update, and at the same time UUP Dump got better and really reliable, I asked admins to "retire" the UUP to ISO tutorial. Instead, I was told that it's better to add a note in it, and leave it where it is.

I fully agree with that administrative decision. Quite a many users will Google and Bing about how to make Insider ISO from UUP files, and will find it. The note at beginning, less than a minute's read, tells then that tool is outdated, and gives link to another tutorial which shows how to use UUP Dump.
