Hi folks

First time I actually got SKY GO to run within a VM decently on this build -- previous releases --either a Blank screen or some DRM rubbish !! SKY Go used to not like running on VM's at all - especially those created by using VMWare.

So long as the graphics paravirtualisation is good enough then this works fine -- I am going to have a go now with passing thru graphics port --this machine has 2 graphics ports on it so should be "Do-able".

(BTW on the standard Windows Build SKY GO won't run on a VMWare VM --starts and then the "oops something went wrong error !!).

(SKY GO is an application that runs SKY TV on your computer - good if you are away from your SKY Q box / satellite TV system) --only Android and Windows so you need a Windows VM if using a Linux Host).

On an Intel laptop that also stuck at 6% until I disabled Kaspersky free then it installed ok. Yet to upgrade the AMD one.

Slow WU update so after 90 min went to bed and let it finish all by itself! Now morning and all done. Looks fine.

downloaded and installed but it took 3hrs.

Started install, CPU @ 100% for last 10 minutes, installing remains @ 6%

Finally success in Updating....this after failures with both UUPDump and WU.

The last few Updates apart from this flight Updated without any problems.

Last year Updating was mostly achieved by UUPDump.

I have had the same setup without any APPS either added or removed....Apart from removing some AMD drivers which allowed me to Update the last few flights..

My only AV being Defender and MBAM Free.

particularly to @martyfelker !!!

SKY GO working perfectly on a QEMU/KVM Virtual Machine on this release -- with Video passthru working as near as makes no difference to "Bare Metal" or Native speed.

Testing by watching PGA Golf (although not my most favorite sport --not a lot of opportunities here for Golf -- weather etc !!!!). Needed to test a Non Free to Air Channel -- working fine (I have a legit subscription from Republic of Ireland box so no piracy involved here).

Video passthru well worth doing -- this makes all sorts of hardcore graphics workable on VM's without any significant problems -- these days CPU and RAM is usually more than sufficient as well as decent SSD type I/O devices --bottleneck on response on VM's is likely to be the graphics -- works mega but you do really need two graphic ports.

Note

Microsoft has made some changes in the delivery system. As UUP Dump is working perfectly, allowing users to create Insider ISO images even when not opted in for Insider program, I see it pointless to update this tool.

Thanks for all our members and guests alike who have used the tool. It will be no longer updated.

Hi there

It's working fine TODAY (05 Feb 2020) so I really don't know where you got your info from.

Just download and extract the zip file and run the .cmd file --works fine !!.

Do people actually TEST this stuff for themselves before merely mouthing other people's experiences any more.
