Hmmm... I thought this was always the case since my phone has been showing a scree image awhile now. And I don't even have the "Phone screen" setting...

My Your Phone app stopped working 2 weeks ago and nothing I do will make it work again, all the troubleshooting tips failed. I even uninstalled it with PowerShell, didn't fix it. Fails to connect to my phone, the notification to Allow never arrives.

The Your Phone Companion app on your smartphone needs to have notifications enabled
To check if that isn't the source of the problem, open the Your Phone Companion app on your PC,
Click its Settings panel, - and then check that the switch next to Notifications is enabled.

You also need to check if notifications aren’t blocked on your mobile
To do that, go Settings on your mobile, and then tap on Your Phone Companion
    — if notifications are disabled, enable them.

That sounds like it may have been a corrupted download error - Try running a system file check sfc /scannow
to check for errors and see if can repair them -

Then when done - Try going SETTINGS - APPS - YOUR PHONE - ADVANCE OPTIONS - REPAIR
and see if fixes the error :)

No errors found in SFC, repair didn't fix it either.
