If you reported the error it might have been fixed by the time you try again?

    Let's hope so.
I filled in the info on the survey that comes up when uninstalling.

For the moment, I'm renaming it as GPS (Guinea Pig Software) :)

Actually that doesn't detect Edge 79.0.309.68
I did manage to add it to HDcleaner though:
HDCleaner detected that version for me, without editing AddedBrowsers.ini.

Thanks. I forgot that I've set auto updates to off. So I'm not yet on the current version. I'll update manually.

I wouldn't use the registry cleaner in that software though as it's not great. Everything else works okay.

I got an error window that kept popping up every minute or so after installing Chromium Edge.

Then I started asking myself "Why am I installing a browser that is not ready for full public release?".
I uninstalled it and went back to the old Edge.
How did you uninstall it? I uninstalled and it left a ton of stuff that still needed to be removed. I used Geek Uninstaller then another uninstaller to remove the office plugins and then had to remove a few registry entries too.

    [How did you uninstall it?]

I used the default "Programs and Features" item.
I tend to not use non-Microsoft uninstall programs any more unless there is something that Disk Cleanup didn't clean up.
From what other users say, in most cases, Windows tends to have a better idea of what to delete and what to keep.
Same goes for registry cleaners and memory speed boost programs.

Even if you don't use Edge browser, you should update your computer anyway because other parts of Windows 10 --- like the Microsoft Store --- uses the Edge browser.

Just setup new Edge on my laptop(the second PC to get it, will do my Lenovo H530 later) and it was much more easier this tim.
All favorites sync'd perfectly, no mucking around with an export from my first Edge install.

Note: before hand, I turned off sync on old Edge and deleted the old Edge's favorites beforehand, then turned sync back on to make sure no favorites were there(on Microsoft's servers), then installed New Edge.

I only needed to turn uBlock Origin back on, added a copy of my site whitelisting, and also needed to add German under preferred languages & spelling, so it will not offer to translate it.
