The Microsoft web page for the NEW Edge download was in ENGLISH, when I clicked Download for Windows 10. Afterwards all Edge menus were in some form of Spanish (?). I later restored a recent image with the OLD Edge.
I have Edge & Google Chrome on my Dell; so I'll just use Google Chrome for now.

It's running great here Only had that one minor problem where i could not install chrome extensions...somehow, in extensions settings, the "use other extension stores than microsoft" was turned off...just had to switch it on and now i can install chrome extensions with no hassle...

It's fast, snappy and low on the memory use....I like Firefox a lot too (and have it installed as my second browser) but edge w/chrome seems to use less memory....

However, on my laptop, if i use any chrome based browser (including this one) i must have that "font rendering enhancer" extension installed to match the web page rendering i get on Firefox...if the extension was no longer available, i'd have to switch back to Firefox...

Well that was interesting. Somehow I managed to download and install a Dutch language version. MR to the rescue. I think I'll leave it until MS sorts it out.

Mine installed in Program Files (x86) and I thought the same thing, but I checked within Edge and the about panel says it's the 64-bit version. So why the heck can't the installer put it in the proper directory?

Also tried watching a movie on Amazon. It was blurry and dark until I turned off "hardware" acceleration, then it was fine. Plus it uses more GPU without it turned on as well—too much in either case, also. I have a 2080ti so not sure why it's using so much. Firefox runs only a few percent either way. But I need it for work so it stays.

It's really nothing more than another Chrome-clone, but at least it doesn't have their software reporting tool.

64bit Chrome also installs in the x86 directory. Perhaps that's a clue.

Weird mine installed in "Program Files (x86)" too, but I'm glad I'm not alone on this.

Question: Every hour on the dot...

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\EdgeUpdate\MicrosoftEdgeUpdate.exe
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\EdgeUpdate\1.3.117.29\MicrosoftEdgeUpdateBroker.exe
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\EdgeUpdate\1.3.117.29\MicrosoftEdgeUpdateOnDemand.exe

These 3 programs run,,. probably looking for updates or whatever, I have no plans on switching from Firefox so I don't want these to run period, I have them blocked in my Firewall, but they'll still run on the hour every hour. How can I make them stop? I have these 3 services also disabled...

    MicrosoftEdgeElevationService
    Microsoft Edge Update Service (edgeupdate)
    Microsoft Edge Update Service (edgeupdatem)

But this does not help my issue. I'm about to just rename this "EdgeUpdate" folder unless someone here got any ideas...

EDIT: I'll add that you can witness these events from the log file located at "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\EdgeUpdate\Log\MicrosoftEdgeUpdate.log"

Looking by the posts here, it seems Edge Dev is far more stable. Got an update today as well.
