I thought that this would remove the old EDGE and I thought this only involved the Browser. I got Office Apps installed as well? What gives?

I removed the office apps and this also removed the NEW EDGE.
You can zap the Office apps e.g. post 14 at How to completely remove preinstalled Office apps on a new PC?

Does Edge remain after removing those Office apps?

Unwanted Programs that come from the provider like when one would Download CCleaner, it would also install Avast. There is a way around that but not with EDGE. I was under the impression that the download would be only the New EDGE and it would also remove the Old edge, well this did not happen , I still had the old edge and office apps that I did not want.
That's very poor software engineering from MS. I've now blocked the Edge update using the .reg file here Disable Installation of Microsoft Edge by Windows Update in Windows 10 I might try it in a few months once the update is sorted out and I see feedback that Microsoft Money still works (see below).

Does the Edge Chrome update screw up IE11 in any way? I ask because I use Microsoft Money c. 2005 which relies on IE for its operation. MS Money currently works fine. Do Money users find the program still works after updating to Edge / Chromium.

I just installed it and no UWP Office app was installed (maybe coz I already have Office 2019?).

So far I've not been using Edge.

Checked and noticed that 'my' Edge was at v44.18352. Somewhere I read about v79 or so.
Vainly tried to find a menu item like 'Check for updates' whatever.
In Chrome it is behind 'About Chrome' in Opera it is a menu item.
But eh .. in Edge ?

    Okay, okay...
    Don't say it...,
    I know it...
Yes, it pretty much sounds as a newbie question....

That's old Edge which gets updated after Windows 10 major updates. To get the newer one (based on chromium), you have to do it manually or wait for next month (possibly) for it to come through Windows Update.

    Thanks.
I am on x64 1909 18363.592 but apparently one has to wait even longer
Well, I gave it a try on a clean laptop just to see how it looks like. Used the link in the first post.
Haven't gone any further yet, but it looks like this basically.

    see attachments.

Sure it will follow on my desktop as well soon.

    Anyway, thanks again.

I have managed to delete 32 bit download of new Edge as I am on a 64 bit win10 but still have some items in 32bit programs. I have downloaded twice but it has placed it in 32 bit both times. The downloads do not come with the options of 32 bit 64 bit as they usually do anyone any idea how I can get it to download into 64 bit programs without deleting 32 bit programs

I just found out a feature. Double-click a link and hold it, take it to address bar or put it on an open tab. It will open the held link.

Chrome is the same. it sticks the 64bit executable in the x86 directory. Just leave it alone.

When you tried to close the old Edge window when you had multiple tabs open (and the same with IE11) you got a prompt asking to "close all tabs?". This seems to have gone with the new Edge and it exits immediately.

Also my taskbar icons were converted to a small box with a single letter, so had to delete them and re-pin them all.
