It may also help to delete the machines form your MS account, this should clean up all the mess that OneDrive /SkyDrive co-created since win8.0. The entries will be recreated afresh when you log back on. Also make sure you clean out/remove all the Favourites entries in C:\Users\YourUsername\Favourites as they used to sync to the MS account too (these are the i.E Favorites entries).
Once all cleaned up you can export to html and re-import into I.E. if needed.

Yes, thanks for that. I have about 3800 Favs/Bookmarks and are NOT going to manually do whatever is meant to be done.
1. You DO NOT have to do this on ANY Google Browser.
2. Clearly there has been a LONG Standing issue with their 'Favs System' as ONE SHOULD NOT have to change their Account File.
3.WHY IS IT SO DIFFICULT FOR M$ TO RE-WRITE THEIR OWN BACK-UPS, WE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO UPDATE THE 'File', THEIR SYSTEM SHOULD NOT DUPLICATE ''AS A NEW LISTING'' WHEN USING THE EXACT SAME Set Up EMAIL ACCOUNT.

Yup Sort by Name is the only option available,
but with my Edge Chrome Browser Once the Favs are put into Alpha Order and Browser is Closed then re-opened the altered Favs REVERT back to previous order position/outcome/location PRIOR to 'Sorting'.

Frankly if M$ can not 'Sort Out' this basic task then Edge Chrome WILL BE Uninstalled on all of my Machines.

Well, I have the new edge, of course, it has to be different just to justify the salarys of the developers. Why on earth cannot the controls be the same as before, surely the only reason for the update is for greater security, and that shouldn't affect the interface.

I wonder HOW (??) to stop this buggy Edge from being installed with the new , next Win10-version..............!!

Not liking the sound of some of these more recent posts. Kind of inevitable it would bug out on the favourites! I won’t block it as cannot avoid it forever but I hope it keeps its distance as long as possible. Question, what happens to internet explorer after this goes into a machine? Does that remain safe and untouched ? I still use it a fair bit

Note that Internet Explorer is not impacted by our automatic rollout.
