    So... to enable IE mode, we have to download more stuff and then edit the registry? My question is why? This was a feature that Microsoft promised at the onset of Edge chromium.

    You can go to Programs and Features and add IE under Features.

    Restart Windows and IE will install and can be found in Program Files (x86) then use iexplore.exe to run it.

    Or you can follow the directions in the link in my previous post above which will run IE Mode in Edge. I have not tried it but went simple to use IE11 on it's own.

    I didn't have to do anything to get IE11. I just searched for it and ran it as a stand alone. BUT, it doesn't run properly on some sites. My bank says I need it to access all features. Well, when I go the bank log in screen they want to know how I want to do 2-step log-in. I can chose my phone #, but the exit from that page is missing on IE. The page is also unstable. I have advised the bank, but not holding my breath to get this fixed.

    I tried using it to get to my Dlink Camera setup site. Again it worked in part, but not fully like it did under Win7.
    Hoping Dlink will get their act together. They do have a good phone app, so I use that.

    I may have already posted this, but my wife has old Edge and there IE in integrated.

    It takes a registry tweak, here we go:
    Disable Installation of Microsoft Edge by Windows Update in Windows 10

    Oh, I forgot to mention to backup the registry or make a system image backup before tinkering around with the registry.

    Are you referring to IDM, the download manager? If so, what is exactly your problem? Is the IDM extension installed and enabled? I use IDM, donīt see any problem with it.

    @Gerry5039,

    Maybe I didn't understand your query. If you are talking about IDM, as far as I know, it is just an extension; you either get it from the store or not, meaning it doesn't download.

    You may need to enable external extensions and install from the Chrome Store.

    I think you can also get it from the MS store. I have just checked.

    Yes mate I have it, but everytime I download anything it is Edge who is doing it, its over riding IDM, I want IDM to do the downloads. I have enabled all the settings to use IDM but Edge keeps downloading it, anyone know how to force Edge to use IDM please.
