AFAIk only Firefox has that older style menu bar.
You are right about FF only, but I didn't check Google to find out since I don't use it often.

Just type "default" in the search engine at the bottom of your start menu....Go to "web browsers" and select "Microsoft Edge"...you can change that as often as you like...
OK I found that. I think Chrome and others have the question in their own menus.

Small problem, is that one link I have to use for Dlink Cameras, only works on Internet Explorer.
I guess I can set link as a favorite on IE and then open IE from start menu. I seems to recall IE being in the old Edge menu (but never used it). Dlink need to get their act together.
So does the major bank site I use that also says they only support IE (most of it works on Chrome, but for some functions, I have to switch to IE)

kado897 - I did as you suggested and that will of course work. Just thought the Edge menu might have been able to include other sources.

You can get one with an extension but it's not great:

    Show Menu Bar in Edge

    I still use Vivaldi.

I've been on Edge Canary for many months and everything except Chrome Store add-ons and the new Collections were imported. Did your favorites import correctly ?
If you sign-in with a MS account, turn 'sync' on (select what you need synced, like passwords) in Beta, close, open new Edge and turn sync on.
Is Edge Canary and Edge BETA the same?

I have turned Sync On in Edge BETA, New Edge and Chrome. I can sync passwords, favorites aso from Chrome to either Edge, but I can't sync FROM Edge BETA to New Edge. How do I do what you have done? In Settings -> profile -> Import Browserdata I can only choose CHrome and Explorer, not "the other Edge".

As I have been shifting between Chrome and Edge BETA to try both out for some month, I think I do know some about Edge Chromium, but not enough it seems

New Edge is supposed to have IE integration for Enterprise users, but it's disabled by default. There are several options in edge://flags that relate to it, but I'm not 100% sure how it works beyond that...

Ok thanks. I just checked my wifes computer that has the old Edge on it. There under More Tools there is the option to swtich to Internet Explorer. That is missing from the New Edge.

For now, I just put a Desktop link to IE. Then saved the two sites I use as favorites. That should do it. That is IF I ever start using Edge as my main browser.

I have been using the old edge for a long time and I like it. I installed the new edge in windows 7 and 10 on a VM. So far I have had no problems with it. It seems easy to learn and has the features I will use. I will wait a while before I put it on my main machine. I will keep watching this forum to see what other people think. Like others have mentioned I would like to see the menu bar like IE has.

In another thread I talked about the menu bar in the new Edge, Microsoft has a list of features that are planned, in discussion or under review:

    Top Feedback.

The menu bar isn't even mentioned there.

I tried out the flags I previously mentioned and unfortunately I was still unable to get it to work. Even with the flag toggled to enable IE Mode, the option to actually use it is not present under More Tools as it should be. I did some research and apparently it worked in the Beta, Dev, and Canary versions of new Edge, but it seems MS currently has it disabled altogether in the Release version.
