    Hi there
    @Josey Wales

    some of you people in USA are too insular !!!

    2004 in "Sensible date format" is 04 (apr) 20 - 2020 --probably a good "Guestimate of when the thing should appear anyway as a "General Build --perhaps you guys should look at sensible things instead of using measurements based on King Henry VIII's arm lengths (you threw out the Brits in 1776 anyway (at that time I think it was the English --UK didn't appear as entity until later with Act of Union with Scotland and much later with N.I) - but a long while before Scottish forces joined up with the English --- History Buff's might like to know Border Town of Berwick Upon Tweed -- taken by Scots and English several times --now in England --still hasn't signed the peace treaty with Scotland !! so is still technically at war.!) and temperature based on some crazy Polish scientist who devised his scale on some sort of weird Water / Salt mixture !!!!!.

    Cheers

    While I don't mind being mocked by foreigners, I don't recall ever seeing a date written like 0120 (January 2020).

    When I lived in Tucson, AZ, in the late 70s, the federal government put up speed limit signs on Interstate 19 (which runs South from Tucson to the Mexico border) in only metric units. Someone from the Pima County government was offended, and introduced a resolution that all such signs be taken down and destroyed. A joker added an amendment that the signs had to be destroyed by burning. (The signs were steel.)

    I remember when The US tried to implement the metric system. Even Cars had MPH/KPH . No one in this community should be mocking another member. I lived in Maricopa county for 5 years. I never saw a date like that as well.

    If my bad memory is correct, it was designated 2004 so that it would not be confused with something that was already designated as 2003. Not sure what was designated 2003 but remember it being the reason for the change.

    So that it wasn't confused with Windows Server 2003.

    They first call it 20H1 then 2004 after the mess with 1903 and 1909 one would think that MS can get their act together at least as far as Versions go. What ever Happened to MS just calling it "Windows"??

    It is usually like this. 20H1 till they settle about the date of release. Then it gets 2004 (or1909 as was previous) name.

    There should be some consistency. I know and understand what the versions are.
