I miss windows 7. While windows 10 has definitely introduced improvements, I just feel like windows 10 is very bogged down with its windows apps and a bunch of clutter that no one needs. Still, it has a ton of improvements that make it worth using, especially in the security department.
7 was good for the time and I enjoyed using it, but times change and 10 is a better performer.
7 was a sold performer back in its day. But I have adjusted to using Windows 10 and ho mostly feel lost when I am working on a windows 7 machine.
The very fact that it was worded that way, just reinforces the position of how undesirably troublesome Windows 10 is!Let’s look back at what made Windows 7 so awesome and why it’s a great operating system we’ll remember for the rest of our lives.

Booting up W7 on a VM the whole thing looks a bit outdated now to me.
personally I actually regretted the demise of XP far more than I ever did W7. IMO it was a pity that XP (the 64 bit version) didn't get a real outing to consumers -- had it done so the whole history of Windows might have been different -- We certainly wouldn't have had the W8 (Mobile phone type of Window OS fiasco) , the partial remedy with Windows 8.1 and the wasted years to get to W10 (which on the whole is reasonably reliable- and has certainly proper security in it now).
XP was based on the very reliable W2K3 Server OS (with a bit of manipulation that made a good desktop OS too).
So W7 I don't really miss you -- the thing I remember most was the incessant updating -- especially when you were logging off a Works type PC and just wanted to go home !!!
So W7 please join those other OS's in the SKY (note not The Cloud) --your time is up and unlike XP it's gone at a stroke --no more extensions etc like XP had --with even another service pack (SP3) after the "official EOL".

We're running it at work. I think for me I'm not big on the UI appearance (the title bar and window shape look kludgy), and that Start Menu is really just a windowed start screen. So I think appearance is my biggest issue. Next all of the UWP replacements for Control Panel applets are yecch. It amazes me that EVERYONE hated Windows 8x and its Metro aspects, but yet they all love 10, which offends in the same way and worse.
Next, you perform customization to conceal these "issues", and the next feature update blows them away.
I'm glad I stuck with Windows 8. The only issue there is that the DM "Eight Forums" have no active or inquisitive users wanting to actually discuss Windows 8.1. It's all littered with "How do I get to Windows 10" topics, and that's what THIS forum is for. Whenever I try to bring any topics of attention that relate to Windows 8.1 (like the Chromium Edge release), nothing - just crickets.

I was given a Win7 Pro SFF computer a couple months ago [came out of a hospital], decided to do the Upgrade to Win10 Pro on a separate clean HDD, went well and activated with the COA Product Key. Then I put the Win7 HDD back in it, still have a couple of clients on Win7 and I like to keep older computers on hand to try replicating the problems those folks run into. Having no expense to that end helps.
