What are you worried about with telemetry. It's mostly things like which apps you use and how long for, that sort of stats.
    because I read this
Should You Disable Windows 10 Telemetry? - Smart Buyer
So what exactly does Microsoft capture and transmit, and how often? According to InvestmentWatch, Windows 10 transmits the following data back to the company:

    • Typed text on keyboard sent every 30 minutes
    • Transmits anything you say into a microphone
    • Transcripts of things you say while using Cortana
    • Index of all media files on your computer
    • When your webcam is first enabled, 35mb of data
    • Telemetry data

the red bits are what concern me.

    Hi there
store media files on a "Non Windows NAS" -- also if you have long path and file names >266 chars Ms would only get a "garbled" list in any case !!!!

I'm not sure about typed text -- just think --that would give Ms every password to every online users bank accounts -- I'm sure if that were true it would have been out on the net long before now.

You have to really query where some of those magazines get their info from -- If Ms really did this -- apart from breaking almost every data protection act on the planet you could easily check by making a "freedom of Information" inquiry applicable in most democracies.

    Excessive Paranoia IMO.

@swarfega -- just posted above about HS2 -- good example -- a decent engineer would just parallel the track to 4 lines to increase capacity -- or even 6 --much cheaper than HS2 --- also a spur from existing Kings X / St Pancras to the west cost main line (Watford ??) - cheaper than all that expensive development in Central London (Euston ??)

Anyway enjoy the rest of the day !!

Not everything in print is necessarily the true facts.

    Hi there
parallelling the lines would hardly damage any ancient woods etc -- the spur piece could go underground -- like the bit coming into London from near ebbsfleet to St Pancras on the Eurostar system.

Just think of all the pollution you could remove from those motorways if you increased the capacity on the current London ==>Manchester etc line - plus you wouldn't need flights from Manchester to London either.

HS2 would destroy a lot more, costs more and would cause disruption FOR YEARS !!! and you'd still only have dual track from B'ham to Manchester etc so even capacity problem not properly solved !!!.

It's just the shear cost of the thing, like most governments they woefully under estimate.

    Hi there
Not only the cost but a totally bonkers and inadequate solution for a relatively simple problem !!!!

What is the point of having high speed rail connections saving minutes between London, Birmingham and Manchester when on arrival total gridlock is encountered traffic wise trying to get to ones destination.....total idiocy....Bloody politicians have not got a clue.

    Hi there
On a smallish Island that's plenty fast enough -- London -->B'ham could be done in around 50 Mins if those lines had spare capacity to bypass slow stopping services (that's why parallelling tracks a good idea). Now try typical commuter journeys in South / South West London !!!--- or even just try going to Heathrow Airport from anywhere in Central London by tube. Often a lot longer than 50 Mins !!!!! and that's on Good days (no signal / points / other failures !!!)

Trains say from Brussels-->Madrid or long distance lines in mainland Europe -- no problem but 140 mph over typical UK distances -- that's plenty. Save your money and spend it on worthwhile projects --not Politicians vanity ones.
