What's with all the Windows 7 negativity, anyway?

"RIP Windows 7" "Good riddance" "Die Windows 7, Die!"

... when there's tons of people still running Windows XP just for shites & giggles, and that's supposed to be the cutest chunk of nostalgia since sliced bread!?!?!?
Equally why all the tears as if the world has come to an end - lol.

When W10 was first released, I hated it, just like W8 - intensely!
I hated Windows 10 so much when it was first released that I disconnected all of my Windows 10 computers and set them on a shelf.

Years later I decided to take another look at Windows 10 and Windows 10 1903 version update had just been released and I did a clean Windows 10 install and found Windows 10 to be a solid running OS.

I'm now running Windows 10 1909 version update and everything is working without any problems on my 2010 Dell Optiplex 380 desktops.

There is still much more room for improvement but it is maturing as a solid OS.
I believe this to be the case with any OSs regardless of what OS it is.

Windows 7 is still great but it is time to move on.
    I agree move on.

Lets see Windows 7 has reached EOL.
    Hmm.
    What to do.
    Windows 10 update is free.

I wasn't a big Windows 7 fan because I started using Linux prior to Windows XP EOL so really didn't use Windows 7 that much.

Microsoft wants to give me a free OS yeah I'll take it.

    Hi,
Reality is one can have both and use the one that's preferred
Why update 7 when I already have 10 and barely use it as it is
Doesn't make any sense at all to have two licenses of 10 on the same machine.

I'm sure as heck not a win-10 test monkey beside what ms throws at everyone lol

I didn't have Windows 10 and since it's free why not grab it.

The Wife and grand kids are the Windows 10 users, I'm a Linux user.

I keep a Windows 10 desktop in case the family's Windows 10 computers go on the fritz as I'm the I.T. support in our house.

If you go on the internet you're a test monkey via an OS / browser / smart phone / tablet / smart tv.

What exactly and I quote "what ms throws at everyone" I'm curious.

I just have a different personal preference than you and others so we will agree to disagree on which is best for each of us

    Hi,
Fair is not the position a lot of people portray
It's more dictatorial this thread wreaks of it
