Microsoft to phase out Microsoft Store for Business and Education

As someone that has managed business IT, A fully locked down Windows 10 Start menu is so much easier to both manage and use ...
Most employees in a business will use a maximum of four or five applications or less and maybe a few apps to handle basic tasks, Note taking, Telephone /email, lists and a calculator, a lot of specialists will use one or two such as accounts only need access to the accounts package plus the basic amenities.
You do not need anything available to the employees that is not constructive to the aims of the business, an employee surfing Facebook or playing solitaire, is costing the company money.
A simplistic interface to a device used in the business is useful as it reduces the non productive Training time to learn a complex system, this can be used to train how applications work. There is no need to be draconian about this, there is room for employee access to the internet, which is only switched on during specified break periods. The same can be where there a signal blockers for mobiles that are switched off at break times family emergencies are covered by ringing the company line

What makes you the one to decide what is Childish? .
Huh? I passed comment on Jimbo's post - what's your issue?!

But I agree on 10 improving on 8. I never used it because I couldn’t believe it didn’t have a proper start menu. It just felt like a mobile phone OS.
Classic Shell solved all my Windows 8 menu problems. Even with 10, I rarely ever see the Windows Start Menu. My customized menu is so much better.

The issue is that Jimbo or anyone else has the right to post their opinion. I do not need nor do I want all the Store Apps and a user should have the right to remove them. As for the look of Windows 10 , it is garbage. I was heavily into Theming with Windows 7. I am running both 19041.1 and 19541.1000 and at idle there are over 140 processes running. In Windows 7 I had somewhere between 23 to 29. If as Larc posted , if not for Classic Shell I would never have moved to Win 10. I never used 8 or 8.1 . Windows 10 is Bloated and is forced upon users. If Jimbo wants to joke around so be it. Look at your sig, "Why so Serious" .

Don't you see why Microsoft Gave Windows 10 away for free? Last year MS recorded record Profits. Sure Win 10 Runs Great on New hardware and that is why they did it. They sell hardware, they get money from the OEMS. If they charger say $199.00 for Windows 10 do you think that they would have the Market Share they do now? I am using a PC that is olds beyond it's years and I will not let MS force me into building another PC. Just look at my specs. Yes life does go on but it can go on using another OS or staying with the latest. Look how many users would be in the Dark without this forum and others like it? MS is secretive about everything.

Microsoft have never made a lot, if any, profit selling Windows to individuals when you take into account providing free updates and support they have often made a net loss
Giving away Windows 10 for free and setting the life span of each upgrade to eighteen months will, going forward, reduce support costs considerably and stop the need to support multiple versions of the software, consider recent status, Microsoft were providing support for Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 10, for free to everyone who is not a business. Under the new system they will be supporting just Windows 10 and with the change to once a year upgrades as per 1903 & 1909 only two versions
Businesses will pay for the software and it's support as always but the reduction of versions of Windows in Support will reduce costs for Microsoft
Basically Microsoft made one almighty ****up with the Five + Five year free support system. and are finally doing something to put it right

I'm not saying Win 10 is perfect...and I hate MS non-communication but for the greater goods I think let's focus on the positive here and report the negative in Feedback hub (I know it's useless but still..)
