Yes, that's just your opinion (unless you have a link or statistic that prove what you say) and I don't agree with that, "IMO" most users here and in other forums (especially those who use Firefox) don't like anything that has to do with Google or Chrome, so they don't like to recognize the percentage of use that Chrome has.
I think so many people use Chrome because of its aggressive distribution. You don't have to go looking for it. If you don't want it, you have to be constantly vigilant to guard against it installing on your PC. Even then, chances are you will still get it several times. Most people who use Chrome probably didn't choose it. It chose them. If FF had been so aggressive for so long, it would possibly be leading the pack now.

You have Chrome collecting user data, Firefox Collecting user Data, Windows 10 collecting everything that the others do not. There is no expectation of privacy any where on The Net Today. I use nothing to stop any of it, because it is impossible to stop it without pulling your Ethernet Cable.
There are many things you can do, other than just throw you hands up and quit. Dissenter browser is fast, chrome based and doesn't allow any collection. Gab can replace Twitter. There are several apps out there that stop windows from collecting ANYTHING on you. And if you replace Youtube with Bitchute or any of the other video programs that protect info, stop using Gmail and other Google spies, you can stop almost all of it. Just like anything else, it takes a little work.

I don't go online with my smartphone, but since Google Chrome is installed on it, I'm pretty sure I'm counted as a Chrome user. Same with Edge; it's installed, so again, I think I'm counted as an Edge user on my desktops and laptops.
No, the sites that measure the use of browsers do not work that way, if that were the case, Edge would appear with a huge percentage of use in those sites (since Edge comes preinstalled on Windows 10).

Agreed, TC. I use Firefox because I prefer it. I have a smartphone and two tablets. All three are android (Google) and came with Chrome (Google) installed. My two desktops and two laptops came with Edge (Microsoft) installed. Is it any wonder that all new computer users just go with what's installed? They don't usually know any better.I don't go online with my smartphone, but since Google Chrome is installed on it, I'm pretty sure I'm counted as a Chrome user. Same with Edge; it's installed, so again, I think I'm counted as an Edge user on my desktops and laptops.Far as I'm concerned, the stats are skewed in favor of Microsoft and Google, since I have to go out and look for Firefox when I get a new tablet or computer. If I were a newbie, I'd have no clue that Firefox even existed!
This is the reason I root my Android S10+. To kick Google out, and have complete control of the device. Many people think rooting is just for cosmetic changes. But the true reason to root, from day one, was to stop Google or whoever the manufacturer was, from controlling the device. I never understood spending so much money on a device only to allow the manufacturer to control it.
Also on mobile you can use DuckduckGo for search and browser. It works very well. I use to love FF. But stopped using it a while back when 90% of my extensions stopped working after updates. The reason I loved FF in the first place, was all the great extensions. Once they killed almost all of them, and NEVER replaced them, I stopped using it. Now I use Dissenter browser, as it's the safest browser online right now. I also use Vivaldi browser, which is ten times more customizable than FF or Chrome. But both of them are Chromium based. Hope this helps.

    Hi there
Actually none of this has much to do with THIS version of Windows !!! Browsers are an individual choice if people aren't satisfied with the bog standard installed one (Edge currently).

Install TOR and use DuckDuckgo if one is paranoid over who collects what on the Internet.

As far as performance is concerned all I know is that edge shows quite a viariance (around 10 - 15% slower) of Internet ISP speed test when using OOKLA than running it on Firefox so there must be some sort of inefficient code going on in the latest version of edge --or at least edge on this build. As I don't use it I can't say I'm bothered though.

    Hi folks

Browsers are an individual choice - but Chrome is so allied to Google -- and whether you like it or not so much data is collected by google and who knows what they do with it. A lot of chrome users are browsing on Mobiles and tablets so the statistic on Chrome usage is not very informative unless it were to specify % by type of device.

And that's exactly why I don't use gmail, Chrome, or Google's search engine.

I ran across this article, and this paragraph really shows what's what.

The extent of the information Google has can be eyebrow-raising even for technology professionals. Dylan Curran, an information technology consultant, recently downloaded everything Facebook had on him and got a 600-megabyte file. When he downloaded the same kind of file from Google, it was 5.5 gigabytes, about nine times as large. His tweets highlighting each kind of information Google had on him, and therefore other users, got nearly 170,000 retweets.

“This is one of the craziest things about the modern age, we would never let the government or a corporation put cameras/microphones in our homes or location trackers on us, but we just went ahead and did it ourselves because … I want to watch cute dog videos,” Curran wrote.
You can read the complete article here:

Google sells the future, powered by your personal data

Further down in the article, there seems to be a way to limit Google's tracking, but I'm not betting the farm on it.

In the EU you have to positively chose which browser to use from a list in Windows and they are just starting to do that in Android after Google got a huge fine. Somehow Apple always seems to get a pass on that.

Call me a tinfoil hatter if you have to. But I'm quite happy without any more Google stuff than I have to have; namely, the phone and little used tablets. I won't let them see my location either.
