Mozilla's efforts to make Firefox more attractive as a web browser have failed to move the share needle. Meanwhile, Google's Chrome continues its dominance.

    Hi there
I'm not sure that the word "Slumped" in this context shows anything other than the journalist's display of not knowing how to use his own language correctly when talking of a 0.5% fall in usage statistics !!!! and also the article is unclear as to whether the browser use was measured on Windows OS'es only or across the whole gamut of devices.

Not surprising that Edge is being overtaken by even IE -- the only thing that edge is good for is the built in PDF reader --in any case anything that doesn't have menu's IMO on a computer is hiideous --a computer with a load of monitors is NOT A MOBILE PHONE - I think modern developers or a lot of them tend to forget it.

In any case there's always open source stuff around -- Browser wars are really "boring, pointless and un-necessary" -- Use whatever one likes and there's a whole slew of them around - some of which rarely make any news but are quite good.

    Cheers

I would never go back to IE. Happy with the new Edgium and the way it's going.

    Hi there

The whole point is choice -- I find Opera good etc -- not mad on Chrome -- not because of the intrinsic performance etc of the browser per se but I'm not really keen on having these mega size corporations "take over the world" and who knows what they do with the data they collect (Remember the saga of Cambridge Analytica).

At least with politicians they can be removed (usually) by free elections but it's difficult to see how one could remove say amazon or google and have any sort of sensible alternative replacement. So I'm happy to let those who want to use products and services supplied by those giants (I use Amazon quite regularly for online shopping and have 3 Amazon fire TV sticks) while I seek out and support smaller independent operators where possible - and especially good open source things too.

    Cheers

I tried using Chrome for a day in my own computer but I ended up going back to FireFox again.
