OK, then: I went back to UUPdump.ml and built an ISO for 19002.1002. I'm doing an upgrade install on the 19002.1 test machines right now. So far, so good. I'm really impressed with the level of automation and understanding of DISM and image management that the developers behind the site display. Great stuff!

[Note added 20 mins later] No problems with restart after finishing GUI install phase with 19002.1002. They do seem to have addressed the issues, whatever they were.

Yes they did a good job with this build and showed persistance in following through with a cumulaative update. Kudos. Never thought I'd say this.

    Sorry for the confusion.

It's not saying Ed is an Insider or not.

MUC is short for the Microsoft Update Catalog where you can manually download updates online from Microsoft instead of Windows Update if wanted. You can look up an update by it's KB number in MUC to download.

MSU is the file type typically used for updates that you can download from MUC. You can just double click on the download MSU file to install it.

I was just saying the Insider update in the first post wouldn't be available to download from MUC.
    Oh! Thanks for the explanation.

WU offered update to 19002.1 Currently on 18991.1. Fast ring (never changed)
    1. Installing hung @ 7% for over 1 hour, reset. Install again hung @ 7% for 45 minutes. Reset and stopped. Both times bouncing between downloading and installing.
    2. UUPDump iso created, installed and around~30% installing, reverted.
    3. Remount iso and installed without issues. 19002.1
    4. Reboot and WU offered 19002.1002. Upon completion, first restart hung for 15 Minutes, manual restart.

    Appears to be OK now.

Did you get the cumulative update and reboot after that. If you did then I believe you are the first to have this fail and you should complain on the Feedback Hub - perhaps they have implemented something like "Return Receipt Requested"
