After a 1909 Clean install, I'm no longer seeing Defender Scan results in my right hand Notification's Window, either after a scheduled or manual scan, despite having Notification Settings 'ON' in both:

'Settings > Update & Security > Window Security > Virus & Threat protection Settings > Notifications'

    Attachment 254735

    and

    'Settings > System > Notifications & actions'

    Attachment 254739

    Update:

After getting a Window Defender Summary of the three scans that failed to show up in the Notifications window, my very next manual scan finally did send a notification, so we'll see tonight if the scheduled scan shows up. Perhaps the Summary shook something up.

The navigation pane on the Start menu now expands when you hover over it with your mouse to better inform where clicking goes.
Who ever thought this slide out was a good idea, every time the mouse touches it, specially while using the mouse next to the apps as a pointer to help concentrate on selecting, whoever thought this up, needs to die a violent Darwinian death. Because they're idiots!

This irritates me, too. I didn't think it was new with 1909, but I've been on 1909 for a long time, so maybe.

The "old" way was good enough, where you clicked the hamburger icon at the top.
To shutdown I use rightclick Windows icon, but for those that use Start menu to shut down:
    First Start menu slides out.
Then the navigation pane slides out.
THEN you need to click power for the options.
Then you need to click shutdown/sleep...etc.

How unintuitive and stupid can a UI be?

This is new for 1909, but MS enabled it on a few RTM 1903 machines (to gauge the reaction?) before 1909 introduced it for all.

Of my 5 physical machines and a several more VMs that were running 1903 only one of them, an old Acer Aspire One netbook running x86 1903 Home, had the expanding sidebar. ... Never could work out how or why it got enabled in 1903, and only on that one particular machine...
I hate the auto expanding sidebar in 1909
