1909 is the mainstream release, i.e. official "production" release and is as stable as it gets.

There might be a security update for it today, since it's Patch Tuesday.

I've seen the fewest errors / warnings in event viewer than almost any previous release to date

Steve it could be because, although 1909 is the latest mainstream release, it was not a true Feature update (as say ... 1803, 1809 & 1903 were), but a hybrid of a set of fixes to 1903 and a few minor feature tweaks.

This is possibly the way that things will run from now on, (or until someone else gets an idea ), which would make the update cycles a lot more manageable for both Microsoft and the users.

Windows 10 is quite advanced from when it was released and there is probably not the need for major updates twice a year, once a year in spring with a consolidation/ Bug Fix update in the fall makes far more sense IMHO. It also allows for a feature that was not quite ready for release in spring could be held back until fall and save all the potential issues from early release whilst keeping the evolution of the OS on track

That would work for me as long as they kept updated security related issues.
