    Search box in file explorer:
    a. I find when trying to modify text here that the cursor vanishes - e.g. I click in text typed here and there's no cursor.
I found somewhat similar behavior with a clean install. I could type nothing. No cursor.

For me this happened while OneDrive was syncing, then after it said 'Up To Date', full search functionality returned.

Thanks, I don't use OneDrive, but a simple text search (e.g. n*.pdf) was ok. It was when I tried various Advanced Query Syntax searches I noticed the erratic disappearance of the cursor after a search to modify the search parameters. And the syntax was not highlighted in blue

    E.g.
    *ata* datecreated:15/9/19..23/9/19
then modify it- no cursor .. that sort of thing.

Could you confirm that if you type, e.g.
    kind:
that that text is not highlighted in blue any more?

It's now just gotten flaky again!!!

Nothing, no cursor, no text, then moments later it's ok again?
So it may have had nothing to do with OneDrive..

Eventually I could type in *ata* datecreated:15/9/19..23/9/19

And it did the search but I could not edit it afterwards.
It instead took me to a list of my previous searches. I saw no blue

After a 1909 Clean install, I'm no longer seeing Defender Scan results in my right hand Notification's Window, either after a scheduled or manual scan, despite having Notification Settings 'ON' in both:

'Settings > Update & Security > Window Security > Virus & Threat protection Settings > Notifications'

What is new in Windows 10 version 1909-defendernotifications.jpg

    and

    'Settings > System > Notifications & actions'

Computer took 5 minutes to install, nothing real interesting.
    But here is the evidence.

Only thing I do not like is the way this is set up. A service pack? Thought this was a feature update. But things have turned out very good.

Not even that. The code for 1909 was already in your 1903. A single small 'enablement package' was installed to turn it on.

    Microsoft said:
Windows 10, versions 1903 and 1909 share a common core operating system with an identical set of system files. As a result, the new features in Windows 10, version 1909 were included in the latest monthly quality update for Windows 10, version 1903 (released October 8, 2019), but are currently in a dormant/disabled state. These new features will remain dormant until they are turned on via an “enablement package,” a small, quick-to-install “master switch” that simply activates the Windows 10, version 1909 features.

Still working fine for me. Cursor is there, I can edit text, and it's highlighted, if I click in windows and then back to search field
