After reading some articles, including Thurrott, I wonder if this update is going to be half-baked!

It's optional, so you have a choice.

Don’t we have the final build—RP—that is being released today or someday soon?

Does this still work in 1903 and 1909?

"Notify for download & Notify for install" missing - GPEDIT

Seems that the settings hold in 1903.

As I noted in the thread you linked to "The last version to say 'Notify for download and notify for install' for option two was 1607. From 1703 on it says Notify for download and auto install'".

I use 'Notify for download and auto install' on all my 1903 Pro machines. It works as described, I get notified and nothing downloads until I click the download button, after which it downloads and installs.

Hi Bree. Just wanted to be sure. Thanks.

BTW - does this setting apply to Feature and Quality at the same time? I think that quality is still automatic, no?

It apples to all updates, even Defender definitions.

There's no way to separate Feature, Quality, Defender for more granular control?

WU says that it will still automatically download updates to "Keep Windows Running Smoothly." Perhaps for Quality updates?

In the past I have found that the only updates MS deem so urgent they'll download anyway (even over metered connections) are the Flash updates and the Defender Platform updates (but not the definitions).

    Hmm...

Unless things have changed, I believe that MS will start pushing via WU around 1:00 PM Eastern or 10:00 AM Pacific.
