    Hi,
I'm one of those insiders affected by the shutdown issue, to keep from continually getting upset..I rolled back to build 18995, to which I REALLY didn't want to. I surely was hoping that by now ms would /might have issued a fix for this. In a moment of weakness, I'm actually considering re-installing 18999.

Just wait for a new build. Could even be today.

When you are insider in the Fast ring or Skip ahead, you have to have a lot of patience, if you don't have it, you better stay in other more stable rings, there have been other bugs that Microsoft has taken a long time to fix, and, as I said in this comment, it is very possible that the fix of this bug doesn't come with the build that will be released this week, but anything can happen and maybe things have changed since Jen posted that tweet.

It's not just context menu... it is system overall. Suddenly I can't open files. This was fine yesterday, and I have no Idea what changed...

Only opening files from explorer is affected. Opening from apps working fine

Totally guessing here (because like all of you I'm a mushroom) but I don't think we will have a new build today - maybe even none this week. Like I said, the shutdown/restart issue has to be solved before the first reboot. This may be tricky. I also don't think M$ will make a big announcement to Insider that the bug is fixed because of all the hardware that has to be tested internally. We will see.

In case anybody is using gnome-boxes that has no shutdown/restart bug like VBox. Again a weirdness but it shows that virtualization can work. I'll test again in awhile in VMware and if the bug surfaces like it has again I'll post to the VMware forums - but nobody will reply. Just for the record .....
