I prefer WPS office also free -- works perfectly on this release (388) (and IMO much more compatible with MS office than Libre Office).

This must be a severe security vulnerability, such out of band security updates are described by MS as bring 'atypical'.

Thanks Bree very clear and useful info; hope you don't mind I'll aks if it's ok to uninstall internet explorer, I infer it is kinda "deprecated" and I don't use it ...

P.S. I tested Libreoffice and also try to print after the update, nothing strange, it worked fine.

I wouldn't as yet uninstall IE explorer as the file system plus file explorer still use parts of its code as well as some of the windows search and indexing functions. I'm not even sure if it's currently "un-installable" either - can be disabled though in programs and features setting (turn windows features on / off)..

By all means don't "activate it" in programs and features as there's plenty of acceptable alternatives -- while I don't like edge or anything that doesn't have menus I use FF very hapily --plenty of browsers to choose from.

I suspect that once programs such as file explorer etc are totally de-coupled from IE then it will disappear from a future release of windows -- as will the control panel which is still available.

Still can not print after this update "due to a problem with the printer set-up"

agreed -- but the Linux version has no adverts -- on Windows I'm still happy using Ms Office 2019-- I got 3 really cheap 2019 Pro licences from Amazon a while back - around 15 EUR each !!! -- no probs with activation etc and are updated to the latest update -- these have survived a few Windows clean installs as well. However I'm often doing spreadsheets on my Linux machine - these import as required into EXCEL 2019 without issue. These still work on latest W10 build. If they de-activate then I'll look at alternatives.

on the screenshot under the office symbol / icon in English it means Product activated.

Also this update I had to uninstall to get my HP 2675 working again. So now what !
