    Summary

    • Addresses incompatible third-party drivers that may cause issues when you upgrade.
    • Addresses an issue during the upgrade in which Korean characters may be clipped or unreadable.
    • Addresses an issue that causes the ESD file to be unnecessarily redownloaded during the upgrade.
    • Addresses hard link issues when you perform an offline upgrade.

Uhm.. I may be stupid here, but wouldn't this update make more sense if this applied to any version prior to 1903? I mean if I am already on 1903 then I don't need to upgrade to 1903.

No, you are not being stupid because I am in the same boat and your assertion definitely make sense. I am also already on 1903 on my non-production (second) machine. The way I see it, if one had missed something during the upgrade to 1903, they (MS) should issue another CU to correct the problem.

I read that as upgrading from any prior version/build to 1903. Sounds like you need to allow the upgrade process to get all updates prior to starting the actual install of 1903 which I know a lot of people bypass as it tends to slow things down.

This contents of the .cab file can be extracted and copied to the sources folder of the Windows installation media to replace the older files.

I prefer to use the Installer for Windows 10 Updates script when I make an updated install.wim. The script automatically copies the updated files to the sources folder.
