i'm having issues already.. Google Chrome won't open. even after a reboot!!

i'm going to try an unstall then reinstall.

UPDATE: eventually got Chrome to open without uninstalling it. but it opened with a page view that i've not seen before. it had a picture shadow of a user with the name "You" under it. I clicked it then the browser was back to normal. next run and it didn't show the picture with text You under it. i'm running latest version of Chrome.

Downloaded and installed. It didn't take long. Everything seems to be OK so far...

I still have updates paused so I got this one from the catalog. It installed in a few minutes, rebooted, took a few more minutes and I'm at 18362.387.

What would happen if I resumed updates. Would it try to give me KB4512941 again which messed up my system so badly or has that been absorbed in this latest CU somehow?

I don't think so, since these CUs are cumulative, but to play it safe I would create a Restore Point or make a differential/Incremental backup with MR (usually very fast for those types) just before resuming Updates. At any rate, if that were to happen, you could always uninstall the update or leave it as is, if it is not creating any problem — MS has been known in the past to install the same Update twice.

Good point, I'll do a new MR backup first. System Restore didn't work for me last night when I tried to use it so did a MR restore to 2 days ago. No loss as I have dynamic data backed up every 2 hours separately.

I'm a bit confused. I can't see anything in the release notes at the beginning of this post that mention fixing the security issue affecting Internet Explorer (as per the thread on KB 4522016). I never installed that standalone update from the catalogue; as I never use IE I thought I'd wait until MS offers it through WU.

I understand from a comment on the latter thread that KB 4517211 is meant to replace KB 4522016? If this is the case, why is there no mention of the Internet Explorer security issue being fixed in the release notes for KB 4517211? If the fix has not yet been offered via WU, does anyone know when it might be? Relevant comment is here: Cumulative Update KB4522016 Windows 10 v1903 build 18362.357 Sept. 23

    Thanks!

If this is MS's idea of a release cadence, they really have no sense of rhythm in Redmond.

BTW, does anyone know what build the Media Creation Tool is producing now?
