At present I am in the download mode for the new Steam OS. it is 959mb file (zipped). Will attempt to run in a VM later. . .good luck to you if you decide to try it out. . .. . .Link
I think I'll pass on this one, at least for the time being.
Tired to get it to setup in a VM, but just couldn't get it to work (probably more me then the OS. Albeit, after watching the video it came clear to me that it would have been a waste of my time; just not into high end gaming, or using an OS that basically has no real means of using high end productivity software.
SteamOS beta impressions: Well, Valve did warn you to wait
SourceIt’s out! SteamOS—Valve’s living room-oriented operating system created primarily to run games—is finally here, in our office, running on a real machine.
But notice how I didn’t say that it’s running on every machine in the office. Notice how I also didn’t say that it’s running on my home machine.
We weren’t kidding when we wrote that you might want to wait before you install. Wait for how long? I don’t know, yet, but SteamOS as it stands today is rough
It would appear that if you are into gaming a PS4, Xbox, or just a good old gaming computer will in the long run be less expensive.A Guy, post: 8365, member: 22 said:
