    It said it was installing, after a while checked back & now says Downloading at 8%!
    It does that sometimes if it finds it hasn't downloaded enough. It's a right pain when it happens.

    Quick question - is it possible to restart the update from the start again (if you think it's failed). I can use a back up to get back to where I was before the update started, but is there another way?

    You can try rebooting during the install and it should continue where it left off.

    After all the frustrating attempts to Update over the last few flights, decided to try UUPDump method.
    What a waste of time....undoing changes made.

    Another option is to use the Windows Update troubleshooter.

    OK. Time to reboot to Windows for Workstations. Then back for VM fun - after I virtualize the physical machine
    Hi there

    @martyfelker

    This build works fine on Linux Host ( latest kernel is : 5.3.1) and vmware workstation 15.5 -- posted here as I can't seem to send screenshot in PM's (dark theme is optional - I selected Breeze Dark but use whatever GUI you like --I've got KDE plasma with SDDM as the "X server").

    Ensure kernel headers installed and simply use yay vmware-workstation (yay is arch linux AUR helper).

    Note the "compressing package" phase takes a while to run - you might think system has stopped --it hasn't just let it run.

    So far this build as a VM runs perfectly for what I need it for. Installed via UUPDUMP -- this worked on virtual and physical machines with different hardware -- amazing how for some things "just work" and others get so widely differing results -- including install problems --haven't had one of those now for loads of builds.

    Cheers
