Well, well, well, looks like I missed all the "fun"!

I'm expecting a new SSD drive for the new computer, so I think I'll just leave off getting updates for now. Glad I got busy and forgot . . .

Well, it's morning here so I've started the update. Currently at 98% downloading after 30 mins, so quite slow.

OK. Time to reboot to Windows for Workstations. Then back for VM fun - after I virtualize the physical machine

Over 90 mins to the desktop. Another slow one.

Didn't notice it last night so started this morning. Is this update process getting longer with every build ? Now it took longer to install than to download. In any case, no misfires, installed at first shot.

The last few builds have been a lot slower for me. At least it didn't bounce.

A machine like mine with SSD should be able to do it in no time but except for SSD it uses very little resources. Same time as my other much slower computer.

This update, while completing, was flaky. I took longer than usual and the first restart was a dud (i.e. it just opened to 18985 as if nothing happened). Second restart took much longer than usual "configuring" and then after a reboot at ~ 33% working on booted to a blank screen (hate when that happens!) and required a hard reset. Amazingly it did not revert but continued on pretty slowly (the progress percent going backwards at one point) but finally here we are. I think I'll skip my usual disk cleanup for a bit - just run the VMware Converter and sleep to check the stability of the system. Once I create the virtualized physical disk and copy it to my XFS storage area I'll feel sae about deleting 18985. A bit of a nail biter - can't say I miss 'em. And BTW what's with a Tues release? Rusing to get to 19xxxx?
