    Welcome to TenForums mem09.

But anyway, that doesn't do what I need. I want to be able to just keep cookies for TenForums and a few other key sites and delete everything else in one click. Revisiting every site I've been to just to be able to clean their cookies is a non-starter.
I am doing exactly what you say by using cookie-autodelete extension. I also use CCleaner and I am frustrated that for now it dose not work with the beta edge. (I think you need to install the beta ccleaner for that)

'Delete all' involves signing in to each site on my next visit. That's what I'm trying to avoid by whitelisting the login cookies and deleting the rest.
Pin the sites you wish to save then Clear all.

    2. Of course you can use it in such a manner to mitigate it's errors but even in the best case it does nothing useful whatsoever at all.
    3. No-one ever says "it improved my performance", all they ever say is "I used it for years and it didn't break anything I'm aware of yet".
    4. If the best anyone can say of a product is "it doesn't necessarily make it worse" then perhaps it isn't worth using.
    In other words ...
    1. It's useless.
    2. It's useless.
    3. It's useless.
    4. It's useless.
Yes, that pretty much sums it up.

An opinion huh? Like something else - everyone has one and everyone else's stinks...

Honestly CCleaner is pointless - the only defenders are people who paid for it (or used it for years) and now realize it does nothing useful at all but want to justify their previous behavior. You see the same with fans of AV or backup products or whatever.

I may be overstating my position a bit but you see the point...

I use backup, anti virus, CCleaner, WinAero and a few other smart software toys.

As an example, I'm not an AMD fan, but I never say that AMD is junk. In fact their processors are catching my attention more and more but I might be getting too lazy to jump the band wagon.Besides, Intel is more of a sleaze than AMD and I still use them. Go ahead AMD, keep convincing me, I'm almost on the dark side.

Putting down someone else's choice of products to promote your ideas is a bit arrogant and shows a lack of respect in other's opinions.

I've used it for years and I can tell you that when I use it on a customer's system that is running at a crawl because of useless files that have never been removed for sometimes years and then after a cleaning you see a noticeable regain of speed, yeah I can tell you it works.

If you use it every day and expect to see a noticeable change, no you won't. If you remove weeds on your grass every day, the grass will be nice but will you say it's useless to maintain your lawn?. If you don't remove the weeds for years what will it look like? I wouldn't have kept it for so long if I would have thought it was junk.

It's a good product, but there is a limit to the price that I would pay for it.

I am however not enchanted that Avast has gotten into the picture. I have removed many times this AV on customers machines because it slowed them down considerably. What a parallel, a slow antivirus buys out a software that speeds up.

MS warns you about cleaning your registry, telling you it's unnecessary. Yet when you install then uninstall program A, B, and C, then check the registry, there could be hundreds of obsolete and orphaned registry entries from said programs. Do they expect their customers to be happy about this? How about when you get to programs X, Y, and Z, and your registry is the size of an SUV?

I use Ashampoo WinOptimizer 16 to clean my registry, and a few other things. My computer loves it, like spinach is to Popeye.
