CCleaner has some useful features if used carefully e.g. selective deletion of restore points. Why doesn't Windows offer that functionality?

This is very bad and abusive move, showing utter lack of consideration.

Yes, there's quite a few things about CClenaer being not exactly right - but arbitrary decision like that...

What's next: Windows knowing better and blocking apps from launching (exercised to certain degree already)?

(BTW and in the same tune: Windows Defender kindly removed XTUService.exe - part of Intel® Extreme Tuning Utility [I have the latest version installed] - from my PC two days ago without any prior advisory. I only spotted it in the logs afterwards. Is there a way to remove Defender instead - or block its nonsensical daily uncontrolled scans?)

Just install 3rd party AV like Avast etc.

I don't need any AV nonsense - my Windows XP PC never had one and I was fine.

I'd rather have it enabled, but with all sort of these silly recurrent scans (daily, weekly, monthly, you name it) disabled.

    (apologies for OT)

Microsoft is not The Net Police. They can ban any site at Microsoft as can any Company, but they cannot ban Windows 10 users from going there. Avast at one time was a great AV but has turned into bloatware. That being said , it is up to the individual to decide what or what not to use.

Remember guys they are just banning them on their Forums, not on the OS.

Not sure what M$'s gripe with CCleaner actually is?
I use it daily (but Firewall blocked), despite Aavast ownership - and have not yet suffered any adverse effects in Win 10.

Could it be that 'cleaning' is somehow also frustrating the M$ Telemetric Machine Learning processes - and thus is disfavoured now?

The day they 'ban' such software from their OS, I'm OUTTA there!
