This whole saga about IE11, Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Edge Chromium (Dev), Microsoft Edge Chromium (Beta), has been going on for a while now. When MS is finally going to put an end to it? — meaning having one stable browser on which one can rely on once for all. With regard to this update (optional), I will probably let it go for now...

Microsoft can't get rid of IE11, too many enterprise applications use it.

That's a fact, but a least it would be very pleasant to be able to uninstall it if one doesn't have any use for it. I know it is easier said than done when one factor in the complexity of the source code and intricacies of this tremendous OS kernel, but pretty sure it can be done.

All good on 3 machines here. Installed just in case I come across a site that only works in IE11 (doubtful).

You may not use IE 11 but it may use you. Some of your aps may use it.

I am pretty certain that at one point there will be an end of support for it, like everything MS. On the other hand, it's been a long while I haven't used it and didn't incur any problem or issue.

I'll give this one a miss. Don't use IE at all.
Same here, Keith. I thought way, way back, MS said IE was set to be deprecated.

I ran the "check for updates" and Defender was updated, but nothing for IE, which is fine by me, since I don't use it.
