Seriously pissed off with trying to Update....undoing changes made....UUP to the rescue hopefully.
Very smooth, if a bit slow, for me. Not had to use UUP for a while now.

UUP successful...What I find puzzling....UUP gives the option All Files and Settings which I use...yet Updating using the same fails to install.

Probably something to do with what WU decides it needs to download. With an iso you have it all.

    Hi All,
I started updating my older HP desktop early this morning (I just couldn't sleep anymore). I'm getting the update via the regular windows update source, it started downloading and got stuck @ 6% for quite a while..I was getting kind of upset, so I restarted my system and the the update started downloading once again. As of this moment, it's still only @ 88%. At least for me this update seems to be taking quite a bit longer than normal, I plan on updating my post after (hopefully) I get it installed.

    Update:
After the update installed everything 'seems' to be functioning correctly, of course I just started using my system again....I guess time will tell. I really think the age of/specification's of a persons system affects how everything functions.

It stuck on 7% downloading for about 10 mins for me then it took off and went to 100% fairly quickly. Sat a 100% for a while though.

As a UUP iso takes less time to update and install, surely common sense dictates M$ should be using this ISO instead of wading through treacle using their present Update method... selecting what should or shouldn't be included is so hit and miss as has been proved by so many in this forum.

You can always see the latest release here to, but I agree it's great to share how the install goes, with fellow users

it does seem to stick @ 6 and again aroundabout 77, watching via task manager mine shows very high levels of CPU & harddrive usage. (have they just moved the getting things ready to here?)
