How did you fix this? I came up with a method of uninstalling the KB4515384 at login (script for uninstaling at Startup or Shutdown would never work) but after I do so and reboot, sign in as someone who is suppose to get some printers from our printserver, they still arent coming in even after getting rid of the update. How did you correct your printer issues? My eyes are bleeding from looking at this all weekend. Thanks in advance!
Also have the same issue. I did notice that the printers are accessible through various applications like word and excel but just don't show in printers and scanners. Once I removed KB4515384 the printers are back again in Printers & Scanners. Also noticed that now when installing from the print server (2012 R2) the printer hangs at connecting. If i wait a couple minutes and reboot the printers are there. Bug city!

Iron zorg- I wish it was that easy in v.1903. None of that shows in my WU

Since 1903 MS has kinda confused everyone about the settings in Advanced Options:

Some users report that they still have these options in the Settings application, see Günter Born's analysis of the issue. Born comes to the same conclusion: some systems display the deferral options in Settings, others don't. He was not able to figure out why that is the case and concluded that it is likely a bug that Microsoft has not addressed yet.

which confirms what @Bree has just said in his previous post. Incidentally, using Regedit one can pause Updates according to @Brink's tutorial:

Ok i made the edits in the reg., but i don't see what you see. I did get the quality option- it wasn't there before. Checked for updates and it downloaded and installed the most recent downloads (which i really didn't want to occur). Rebooted with no apparent issues. time will tell.
My only remaining question is how do i get the 'days'field in 'Choose when updates are installed' to not be greyed out??

thank you Iron zorg for that info

Some of the comments on other sites about the problem of the missing deferral option in Settings are mad in absence of knowing the fix.

    Note that this site
Topic: Win10 version 1903 disappearing Update settings described, but not explained @ AskWoody
refers to the solution on tenforums.

    - do you have deferral configured in the Group Policy Editor?

I suspect, as I said above, that setting that in group policy may result in that being greyed out. I've not tested this by setting the GP to not configured.

DISM's /ResetBase is actually a more aggressive clean up and will make it impossible to uninstall any update prior to the ResetBase. Using Disk Clean up or Storage settings is the same as using DISM's /StartComponentCleanup.

TBH, I avoided ever having to use W8 and in W10 I clean up manually ASAP after an update. So no, I don't have personal experience.

As I read it, yes the task runs automatically, but no it won't clean up everything. It will only remove packages that were installed more than 30 days ago. To clean up everything possible you need to manually start the clean up.

More details on how it's intended to work here, from when it was added to W8.

Thanks for the info Bree, i also do an occasional manual cleanup after a few weeks, though good to know that the scheduled task is there anyway.

I wrote earlier in this thread about problems with device metadata causing printers to malfunction... Yes, It seems like I was correct - just found this announcement:

    https://social.technet.microsoft.com...in10itprosetup

Could be good to know since some millions of users are affected... Maybe something for @Brink to put a link to on the front page since it is a stopper for many, including the company I work for.

    rpotterf,

Check the link in the stuff I multi quoted up there. For me it ended up having nothing to do with the update. Read down through that link and at the very bottom they talk about a GPO change they had to make. That is what cleared up the issue for me. Printers started rolling back in after that for people and they could print again.
Computer Configuration/Administrative Templates/System/Device Installation/PREVENT DEVICE METADATE RETRIEVAL FROM THE INTERNET. Big props to Fredrik. Thank you sir. Spent HOURS troubleshooting the update thinking it was the issue and it had nothing to do with it. Strictly coincidence. Good luck out there!

    FF69

We are not experiencing any of the issues mention above, nor the ones in post #1. The machine remains stable. Only FF 69 returns a popup saying that we must close the browser. This bug was also present in the previous version.

I've quite often experienced that when trying to close and relaunch FF if I do that quickly enough.
