Heads-down on a deadline all day yesterday. Didn't see the notification until just now. Have upgraded all 5 eligible PCs. On the Release Preview machine, I got an 0X800FFFF error on the first try from WU. Went through fine on the second try, though, so all is well. Can't help but see continuing .NET framework issues based on (a)similarity to the last CU's error code on that Insider Preview machine, and (b)Microsoft's post of another 3.5 and 4.8 CU so soon after the previous one. Go figure!

I'm getting a Smart Screen protection notice when I try to run this app. Did you guy get that as well? Using the link Brink provided...
Telling Defender to allow it says the publisher is unknown. Odd being this is a Microsoft app
Edit: this is the 64-bit version as I'm running Windows 10 Pro x64, latest non-insider build.
No. I didn't. In Pro x64 I had the default SmartScreen settings (on, all set to 'warn') and no group policies in place.
Change Windows SmartScreen Settings in Windows 10
Thanks to you and @Bree for your efforts in checking!
I guess what really surprised me was this statement under the MSRT link in Details - Use this tool:
MSRT targets prevalent malware families only. For comprehensive malware detection and removal, consider using Microsoft Safety Scanner.
