So now this update can break your Start menu, search functions AND audio quality… Great, just... great… What's worse is that this update is being installed automatically to thousands of users as we speak.

Best way to resolve those issues if you are among those affected by them is to roll back with a system image backup and then pause Updates until MS irons out this mess. That is what I did on my production machine (PC-1) still on 1809 and working great so far. The weird thing is that my second machine (PC-2) far older than the production one is on 1903 and also working great. I don't have any explanation for that.

I am not only blaming MS, but also some users' software and hardware configuration. Worth noting is that the more third-party apps you allow on your system, the more problems (issues) you are going to have.

They haven't even acknowledged the audio issue despite numerous reports and articles popping up about it the past 48 hours... It's sad that we as users have to bug-check issues like this.

    Hello Faith,

Microsoft may update the known issues page I linked to today sometime for this issue.

Beware of the new updates if you have Cortana folder renamed or searchui.exe renamed to reduce cpu usage!

I had to reinstall Windows after my boot profile was removed and couldn't fix with bootrec commands. Got it back with a full reinstall though. Maybe I needed a fresh start anyways!

Just to let you all know that it will be possible and please don't do whatever I did. Apparently Windows doesn't like to see customizations of your PC when you are in charge!

    Thanks,
    Braden

    2019-09 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1903 for x64-based Systems (KB4515384) - Error 0x80073701

    Tried to download windows10.0-kb4515384-x64_d7e55a2589b1c603138c533b27b0d1222de975db.msu - says " failed! "

ran Reset_Reregister_Windows_Update_Components.bat then WU still Error 0x80073701 run MSU still Failed!

even went to download the wu10 Troubleshooting Pack Cabinet (.diagcab) said it fixed something but still can't install KB4515384 for the life of me.

Funny I just did a fresh install of windows last month this is my first update on windows 10 and its not having it.

I seem to always have windows update issues on windows 10 I may just give up and go back to 7 because reinstalling every month or reformatting every month for a single monthly " Microsoft update " is not worth it for me to reformat and reinstall all my software and drivers. I don't get it. I tired to look it up and it seems to be a common issue for windows 10 and Microsoft says they are trying to fix it. HA yeah right. Microsoft Acknowledges Windows 10 v1903 Error Code 0x80073701

All updated and no issues but have to say I never enabled Cortana.
I lost my photo for the forum somehow. How do I get it back. I thought there were icons one can upload or do I have the wrong site?
