Due to a bout with throat cancer, I can no longer speak. For that reason Cortana is not even activated on any of my pc's. I have removed the new registry entry because it is not on the other pc's and they are working fine. Am used to such things with MS starting with Win 3.1. I was in Tech Net from the day they started until the day they shut it down. It will all work out.

I think some people have got around it with a repair install.

What the heck is going on with Search ? Noticed some performance issues lately and found out that Search is using 17 - 25%+ of CPU but on only 2 cores although those ones are close to 100% usage. I disabled Windows Search service but it still starts up

and after couple of tries I manage to disable it from Task Manager. Processor usage drops to it's usual idle state of 0 - 2%. Cortana has been banished for a while now.

I wonder if it's connected to the Cortana CPU spikes problem.

Cortana has been fired from here a while ago. I was tired of her trying to translate sounds from my TV into French.

Same problem, Realtek Audio ALC1220, started with KB4512508, I didn't had Realtek driver installed, so I was using the default High Definition Audio Device, it fixed installing Realtek latest driver, but after updating to KB4512941 the problem came back (crisp sound every few seconds), then I had to revert back to the default driver and it seems normal again...
