I have also restored back to my image created just before the update and will stay on 18362.295 until this is sorted by MS. what a load of BS though..

I tried the temporary procedure and it still makes the CPU go to 34% and causes all sorts of issues. slowing down and slow responses with the start menu and more....I have elected to restore back to 18362.295 and will stay there until this BS is sorted out.

    Edit*

So i followed the above 2 temporary fix steps again and at this stage it all seems to be working fine. The CPU usage is not getting hammered!

BTW the command to replace the files is...

    the command: cd c:\Windows\SystemApps\Microsoft.Windows.Cortana_cw5n1h2txyewy\cache
    xcopy /o /x /e /h /k D:\backup\cache\*

Where (D) in my case was the (C) drive - I just put the created backup (Dir) in the main C (Dir) and then ran the command in admin mode.

Lets hope they fix this proper in their next update.... Still have my fingers crossed that this doesn't break at some point? LOL
So with this "cache" fix does it allow the Bing search to be disabled in searchbox (no web searches) ?

May be the clean install 4 weeks ago and also disabling fast startup helped me !
Yeah, my searchUI.exe is suspending after enabling Bing search.
All seems fine with CPU usage.

Yes - Just few minutes ago I "changed" form "activating Bing search" to this cache fix.
This allowes me to disable the Bing search in ShutUp10 again - Without any high load on Cortana.
Web search tab disaperd again as it should in SearchWindow.

But note that sfc /scannow will revert to faulty cache files again. But who uses sfc /scannow everyday

Ok, Good to know, since I never use searchbox I am leaving it alone.
Anything local I run I use the run command.

Still nothing, maybe they pulled it because of problems reported here.

They haven't said anything like that in Update history or their blogs. I first got update for Net frameworks and upon its installation, I was offered KB4512941.

I see it in my WU list, but I will wait until patch tuesday. No reason to rush it.

My 2 Win Home systems received it following the Net Framework KB, but my Pro system received the Net Framework KB, but not the other CU. Who knows MS's strategy ?
