I'm noticing how big the latest builds have become. These are compressed AOMEI file sizes and show the initial base image size after the build has installed and fully cleaned of all possible categories. Although compressed, they give a really good indication of growth. I'm currently seeing more than 5Gb increase in the size of the latest build compared to just two or three weeks ago.

I thought File History was being deprecated.
Is File Backup in Win 10 being deprecated by MS?

Not much difference in the size of MR images.

@kado897 that's interesting. All my Insider Builds have been done via WU, not clean installs from UUP dump. I see 'Apps and Features' under Storage shows almost 10Gb used. That seems a heck of lot tbh and a quick mental addition of the list looks way short of 10Gb.

That VM has not been clean installed since the Technical Previews. It doesn't have much in the way of programs installed, just anything I want to test is working. I also have a separate disk I share between my Windows VMs that is full of portable programs so they don't clag up the install. I am also fairly ruthless is cleaning up after an upgrade. The MR images are not really for backup of the VM, just to test MR. I take a copy of the virtual disk immediately after the upgrade which acts as the main backup.

@kado897 mine is essentially a fully configured main system that I clean installed initially from UUP back in around March time and thereafter updated via WU. It is these last two or three builds that have seen such a massive increase in their fully installed size for me.

Sounds like something is not tidying up after itself.

@kado897 Thanks, this is something I might look into when I have time.

Just quickly looking at 'System reserved and Storage' shows a large Hibernate file which I don't use and which isn't enabled in power plans (I'm using an SSD) and also System Restore, which if it means the traditional System Restore, is already OFF by default (SSD). I'm assuming both of these are real files that exist on the drive. I can't say I've looked here before, at least not to be familiar with what to expect to see. The reserved storage I do know about.
