After installing build 10015 my PC insists that a standard NVIDIA driver is non compatible and insists it needs a DCH driver. Anyone else seen this?
I did not see this behavior when I installed 10015, but I already had the newest 436.02 driver installed when I upgraded to it.

Regarding these updating issues, has anyone else noticed that in some cases the 'Program Files (x86)' folder has become hidden? I had this issue on 5 out 7 machines running 10012 or 10013. All how now been updated with a 10015 ISO from UUP dump and the 'Program Files (x86)' folder had to be manually unhidden.

Yes I also had that version installed and apart from the occasional stutter it seemed ok. However I decided to do a fresh install of it so uninstalled completely using DDU but when I tried reinstalling the Standard version it refused to install saying it was incompatible and the DCH version was needed. I downloaded the DCH driver and it installed fine.

I had some free time this afternoon so I loaded up my 10015 image and tried to reproduce the behavior you are describing.
I used DDU in safe mode to completely uninstall the 436.02 driver, and then rebooted to Windows and reinstalled standard 436.02.
At no time did the operating system complain about anything at all to do with whether or not is was a standard or DCH installation.
The only time in the past that I have received the warning about incompatibilities is when I have had a currently installed DCH driver.

One thing I did find slightly unusual, was that when I booted to safe mode DDU, the option to prevent windows from downloading drivers
from windows updates was unchecked in options. I am quite certain that it was previously checked, as that is how I always have it set.

Might be worth checking to see if yours has reset itself, as that may be allowing WU to sneak a DCH driver in before you can install the one you want.
Which would definately prevent you from installing a standard driver set, and make it throw the errors/warnings that you are describing in your post.

    Hi All,
I'm typing this post on my ASUS T00A tablet, today when I checked windows update for updates, I was offered Slow Build 18362.10014 . It installed correctly without any issues whatsoever, now I'm really confused as to why the same build won't install on my desktop that's running windows 10 pro 64-bit version. One of the member's in here mentioned this: " Then I created an iso file from the uupdump site.", I've never had to do this before..so I really would know how to do so. Besides that I don't even know where the 'uupdump site' is located.
    Thanks,
    David

    Hi,

Update: Is this: UUP dump the correct site ?
Yes, it is. It's really not hard to use. Pick the version you want and let it finish.

    Cheers,

    Hi All,
Just like I was told, using the UUP Dump to install the desired upgrade was really easy to use. So glad I got the update to install without receiving the error like I was receiving. Once again I'm so thankful for this message board and people that care about other's.

Interesting. This build seems to fail for many. I haven't been testing insider builds for some time now. Is this a common theme for 19H2?
