I think we will get another CU again any day soon, seen loads of tweets from askwoody about vb script being broken and so far only the other win 10 versions being addressed but surely 1903 incoming soon. Not sure what ramifications that has for the normal user but I guess it’s going to have to be fixed judging from the noise. So we are prob going to have to do it all again
VB Script broken? It's been discontinued/disabled intentionally from what I see. Unless you're talking about some other variant of it somewhere.

This is from just yesterday morning.

What Is VBScript, and Why Did Microsoft Just Kill It?

    Continuation of Wireless mouse issue

This is odd, now all my Unifying Receivers work flawlessly again. No issues at all. Wonder what could cause this.

    Known issue.

[UPDATED 8/16] After installing this update, applications that were made using Visual Basic 6 (VB6), macros using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), and scripts or apps using Visual Basic Scripting Edition (VBScript) may stop responding and you may receive an "invalid procedure call error."

Ok, but does that mean MS is suppose to support it, while discontinuing it?

According to Wikipedia it is still around as part of ASP.net VBScript - Wikipedia

I've seen that with other CUs, even when installed by windows update, some seemed to need two runs before registering as 'installed'. If you let it try it goes through the motions then ends up saying 'installed' without actually downloading anything new.
    Will try that

I've been using vbscript's for scheduled tasks for a while now, so I have a time vested interest in this issue.

Having followed this recent move by Microsoft to 'kill it', I've also read there's a huge commercial investment by administrators in maintenance tasks written in *.vbs scripts that are independent of this IE browser disabling.

And this debate about it's future is not new. It's been in the news for a while now, going back at least 15 years (see below). Perhaps vbscript's future has finally arrived, yet for the immediate future, I seem to doubt it. Of course eventually like others who've invested heavily, I'll need to convert all my lines of code to Powershell. The rule of thumb now in most of these shops is write everything new in Powershell, while maintaining the *.vbs scripts till they age out.

But getting back to our .295 topic, I've not seen any evidence with any of my vbscript's getting this known .295 update issue - "invalid procedure call error."

Rumours of VBScript’s Death Have Been Greatly Exaggerated

yup. the upcoming KB4512941 update for 1903 will contain the VBA/VB6/VBScript bug fixes - I'm only seeing that update thru a recent UUP dump which has build 18362.325. KB4512941 may also be offered in the RP ring maybe today before it goes public later this month
