Mine is an older paid for version but honestly, I should not have to be forced to accept updates if I have already paid for a legal version. If Microsoft found they failed in making a valid good version that is on them and not me. Let's facce it, if you bough a car that the air bags didn't deploy then should you be forced to buy a new one because the manufacturer made a mistake? Well I don't see this as anything different. It's not like they can't afford to do it right now and share that for those who paid for a service.

I understand your disgust. I have simply given up on MS. I don't think they have the skill and know-how to manage Windows the way they're trying to do it. The development model with all the branches and Insider "rings" is totally chaotic and constantly changing. If you think you have come to understand it, just wait a couple of weeks - they'll change it, again. I understand that some people need to use Windows for one reason or the other - I am lucky. I don't. There are alternatives. I would consider moving on if you can. Your blood pressure will thank you.

Yes, Linux has much to offer and so much more freedom. We use this at work and I have considered the change.

Microsoft will never push out security updates to insiders first. The minute security updates are released you have people scouring through them to see what holes they patched and will use the information gathered from that to attack current systems.

Pretty sure it is the same with every vendor as well.

True that. But equally one would have thought that they're tested somehow, somewhere, surely (internally @ Microsoft, that is)?

Judging by the usual mayhem that I witness monthly over the last couple+ of years I sincerely doubt.

I won't argue that they need better internal testing of updates.

    Hi,
MS just proves over and over why auto updating is flawed.

I was scrolling around in twitter to a few channels I was following, and I see this notice that some users that updated to this new CU for windows 10 1903 are experiencing random restarts. I saw through this article that also links to other forums having others experiencing this, and I would like to know before updating to 1903 if anyone else can confirm they're having this problem as well

I usually use NTLite to integrate the CU updates and other updates I need to my Win10 ISO file I download ONLY in the case of a version number jump (1709 to 1803, or 1803 to 1809 and so on), but if this is real, im not installing this until it gets fixed. I already had to reinstall my OS after I foolishly erased it with the wrong cmd command in with a win 10 install disk
