Does anyone know what has happened to ‘release preview’ ring? Seems like it’s been lost in the dust!

It's for 1903, 267 got pushed out to via Release Preview before the production ring.

Release Preview is doing what it was designed to do, provide a preview of CUs before GA. The band D ones we had last week were tested in RP through several iterations prior to release.

Super--I really like the cumulative-update strategy! Took all of five minutes, if that! Could get used to this!...

So....if I understand this right--all the new features this build entails are turned off in my build--18362.10012?

    Thank you @f14tomcat,

Because I spoke too soon, 18362.10013 brought Cortana back with a vengence. It was in the red using 20% of my CPU so I uninstalled the update since nothing else would make it relax. It would slow down if I let the PC idle a while but as soon as I hit the search icon it would spike right back.

I tried switching from 1903 preview ring to slow and windows update said no update available. So I went and made the 13 build isobfrom uup dump. and ran it. But it failed and rolled back and now windows update keeps trying install the older 0005 build instead of the newer build

I believe you need to start with a clean install of 18362 first. Those were the instructions from MS when all this Slow Ring current testing started. If you try to jump on in the middle, it will probably fail. Your approach is right, just go get/make a clean 18362 and let it update to 18362.267 (current). Then flip it over to Slow Ring. You'll get either 18362.10012 or 10013, depending on the flip of the coin, as Dona mentioned.

Just a theory, as I have never been interested nor used Slow Ring and Release Ring builds, I have no idea if this works or not.

As far as I have understood, Release Preview allows user to stop receiving Insider builds, leave Insider program. Wouldn't this make the updated Release Preview build to "official" general availability 1903? If so, wouldn't it then be possible for the user to re-join Insider program, this time selecting Slow Ring?
