    1. No, I'm not! Why would you think that? I don't know whether to be offended or just laugh it off. Guess I'll just laugh.

    2. If you'd said "those who don't have one or may need one more', I would have agreed with you. But you said:

    3. Microsoft has already changed their licensing agreement, so that's not likely to happen again in the near future. You should be able to read the EULA and know exactly what your money will buy and how you may install or transfer your license. Here's ZDNet's writeup about the Windows 10 license for consumers.

I believe I gave pricing for full Retail versions and said the OEM version can be had for a little less. So, yeah, I know the difference between OEM and Retail.

It would be nice, but I just don't think it's likely that Microsoft will be putting Windows 10 full version on sale any time soon, since they've already given everyone who has a qualifying copy of Windows 7 or 8.1 a free upgrade. Most likely anyone who will need to buy Windows 10 (whichever version they choose) will be required to pay full price.

Fine with me with what you think. But I'll try not to miss a special "SALE" deal happens, so I believe others will not refuse it!

There are just so many different ways to say the same thing over and over.

I think you have covered every single one of them plus added a couple of extra's here and there.

You are free to do whatever you feel is right for you.

The other 99.9% will do what they feel is right for them and will be happy with the free upgrade.

I rest my case and bid you a good night !

I think I'm gonna go out tomorrow and purchase something for $120 that I already obtained for free.

Hahaha.... Believe or not, my last paid Windows 8/8.1 full retail was $14.99. I have prove!
Yeah, I got that deal too... I bought Win 7 retail for just under $100 within three months upgraded to Win 8 for $14.99. So for about $115 I've gotten three retail versions (or you could say 3 1/2 if you count 8.1) of Windows.

Yes, you would have to buy a new machine with windows 10 on it.

I think this would mostly be true for lap top owners as its not easy to change all the part's inside of it.

If you have a desk top, you basically have no excuse to buy a whole new machine as

    everything inside is easily replaceable.
Only up to a point, as soon as you need new MB, you'll have a new machine as far as MS licensing is concerned. That's even if you are replacing with identical one.

Tim Myerson said something a while back about giving pirates 'something special' - I equated that to a cheapo-special... so we'll see after the free period ends - if MS has not reached there goal of number of devices - whether that materializes.
Also they should consider relaxing the Device ID criteria - some report that even BIOS/CMOS changes can deactivate - this is gonna be problem after Aug 2016 - albeit a small percentage will be affected.

That 'something special' for pirates is that they'd still be able to update to 10 but will end up with just as illegal windows as they had before. I have no idea why they had to reiterate that as none of that stopped pirating before. It may be trap though, to catch some of illegal registration numbers and get them out of circulation.

Well, there you go... bursting my bubble - however, I can't see how that is anything 'special'...
