I noticed when clicking search near Cortana that the top apps icons turn black and white sometimes on this build

New mobo. Not an Ultra-Durable since for some reason UD that support AMD Ryzen 2000 series CPUs no longer have a dual bios option so are pretty useless for my needs. Instead got a new AORUS mobo with the latest F31 BIOS which should curb my urge to flash BIOS. I had to revert back to the F2 BIOS anyway since despite @BIOS claiming the flash process completed successfully I could not get into the BIOS in order to enable virtualization. Why MB manufacturers do not make enable virtualization as a default I'll never understand.

Anyway the upgrade to 18945.1001 went smoothly amd I am running UUPtoISO right now.

ISO creation is completeted. Rebooting .....

All is well. I assume people have noticed that MS seems to have given up (at least for the time being) moving Disk Cleanup completely to Settings and that there is at least one less reboot during the update process. Thumbs up to these developments.

Come to think of it, there was only one reboot until finish. From the beginning it started download right away and only one install stage.

Yes and the last reboot started at 79% complete. This improvement started quite a few builds ago. Surprised nobody else (including me) mentioned it.

    I didn't notice it before.

The restart percentages have been all over the place until the last reboot for some time now.

I usually clean install all builds but didn't install 945 because I installed 947 early in the week.
I can state though that these issues almost never materialise with clean installs.
I haven't ether when clean installing- which is why I'm curious what happened here.

SO, in clean installing on my system, I would pick the one build that is bonkers for some odd reason.

Defender's normal parameters are stored in the reg key [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WinDefender]. On my system that key simply does not exist - but what does exist is the key [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WinDefend] (notice therre is no "er" after Defend in my key).

Part of me is tempted to just create the missing key and copy the values from the Defend key to the created Defender key. The other part of me, who has been fighting stupid idiosyncrasies on my system since build 18936, says F that clean install 19043 and then upgrade it to 18945.

I've only install Office on here, and updated drivers, so no real loss. But not being able to log in to the Feedback app makes this more challenging, as I cannot even report (except anonymously) the fact that this happened on a clean install of this build in the first place....
