This is interesting. This data is from my 1903 main production, not Release Preview or any other build. Prior to the CU, the LCU directory was NOT there, as I posted above, but was in Release Preview. Now, it is in main 1903, also. That accounts for the 1/2 gig I couldn't figure out where I lost it. I just ran Disk Cleanup (all options checked except my personal downloads), and it is still there. Just for kicks did the cleanmgr 65535 flavor, too. Still there. This must be a prep for the servicing of 19H2 via cumulative roll-up like, (repeat like) a service pack. Notice the file has "roll-up" in the name.

Like I said in my post #65:
"At any rate, if some updates are still needed, MS won't let you delete them. My understanding!." That is probably why.

Earlier after the .239 CU, others voiced issues with not being able to clean up after these updates like they use to before 1903:
    Cumulative Update KB4507453 Windows 10 v1903 build 18362.239 - July 9

Nowadays I just check the Storage Sense Temp directory for evidence of Updates to clean. For some odd reason and this is purely anecdotal, they only seem to appear for me here after every 2'nd update. For instance when I checked after .239 there was nothing, the time before there was 2G the time before that nothing. Checking today found and removed 2.5G.

    Definitely different behavior for me.

"65535" I thought you could use any number between 1 and that?

I had 2 entries there. one for the 9th and the second for the 27th July. These correspond to both July CUs or maybe to the Servicing Stack updates.
I ran Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup and the first one was gone.

You can. The 65535 is just an historical hangover from the old days when it first came out. Because you can create as many variations as you want, SAGESET will remember those settings in the registry. After that, the SAGERUN is really the only parameter required to retrieve and run using those settings. Good article here....

This is a 'D' release (D = 4th week of the month). As it contains no new security fixes it is optional (even in W10 Home). You find it if you manually check for updates.

Only the Patch Tuesday 'B' release has new security updates and will be downloaded/installed automatically by windows update. The 'C/D' releases are optional.
What's going on with Windows Update?? When I go to Settings, Update and security I get this...

    Cumulative Update KB4505903 Windows 10 v1903 build 18362.267 - July 26-image.png

so I click on Check for updates and about 5 minutes later I'm back to this screen again!

I have reset Windows update components by two different methods, rebooted and retried Windows update again but nothing changes...it keeps coming back to this screen after 5 minutes of looking for updates!!

    Any ideas anyone please?

    Thanks.

Here's a weird bug that I think is related to this or the previous update: I use an app called Boxcryptor to encrypt some files on Google Drive, and it uses something called the CBFS to create a virtual drive in order to do this. At some point within the last week or so, any encrypted PDFs that I edit get corrupted on the save. I've tested editing Word, Excel, and text files, and they're fine.

I don't think the issue is with Boxcryptor itself, since the version I'm running hasn't changed. But these release notes mention several PDF-related changes, and the only thing that's changed on my PC in the past week or so (when this started) is Win10 patches -- only the released ones, I don't get the preview stuff. Someone else posted on Boxcryptor forums that he's having the same issue with PDFs, and he said it happens in two different PDF apps. He also said it's a very recent occurrence.

Have you checked "Advanced Options" to see if anything has changed with regard to "Pause Updates" or "Choose when Updates are installed"

Yes, I do not have Pause Updates selected and the time set for busy time is 5am to 7am - I was trying to update at around 7.30pm. So I can't see any problem with those settings.
