    Something is wrong somewhere
Normally I have 3 or 4 defender updates per day
I’ve only had one since installing this latest build
    Anyone else with this problem?

Ya know what? There are lots and lots of things I have no interest in. To me, games are an absolute waste of my time. To a gamer, they're some of the best life has to offer. Where do I get off telling Microsoft they should spend less time on ridiculous periferal things like games? And guess what ... there are folks who like their emojis. I like 'em and play with them a lot while talking to friends and family on Skype. It's fun to add a little funny face to a statement. Are they a necessary part of Windows? Heck no! But, neither are games! Also, when it comes right down to it, I'm pretty sure Microsoft bought the majority of emojis/emoticons included in Windows, rather than have their engineers create 'em. Then there's Paint, which has been a part of Windows for years and years (not always called Paint). Microsoft had a brainstorm (or was that a brain fart?) gave us Paint 3D and told us Paint would be removed from Windows. Nope, not a necessary part of Windows; many, many, many far better 3rd party graphics apps. However, Microsoft changed their mind about removing it when a huge number of people started to object about Paint's removal.
Where do we get off on telling M$ they shouldn't spend time on ridiculous periferal things? Easy, WE are the consumer!!! And when it comes to consumers, power is in numbers. And while those who love games really love games, they are a small percentage of the consumer base. In my opinion, which is just as valid as anyone else's, I think it is moronic to invest time into unneeded things like emoji's and games, IF you can't even get core things, such as graphics drivers, card readers and several other vital parts of an OS fixed and optimized!!!!!!!! And even though I am overzealously AGAINST emoji's, as they represent a big part of the dumbing down of society, and loss of language skills of Millennials, my point is still unbaisedly valid.

You were responding to me, and I never said they should take the emoji's out. I only said it pisses me off that they spend time fixing and upgrading unneeded simple things "like emoji's", while ignoring vital parts of the OS for months and months at a time.

This is nothing new. Microsoft has long seemed much more interested in working on new features they can crow about than in fixing flaws in things they've already released. I suspect the latter often requires more effort.

Unfortunately, while we (those of us in this forum and posting in this thread) are consumers, we're not the consumer majority - and the majority, according to Micro$oft's demographics, wants a prettier interface with more emojis and could care less about the real benefits of X over 7/8, like the backend revamp of Task mgr, etc.

Remember, this is the same company that put out ME. That, in and of itself, should say a lot.

No, she was not. She was responding to Doogie, who made the comment that her previous post was full of vitriol.

I've linked the post below - in it are the quotations from Doogie and her previous post to which Doogie originally replied to.

And it was all about the nuances of the meanings of the word vitriol - here in the USA, a post that is referred to as being vitriolic / being full of vitriol is taken, at face value, to mean being insulting, derogatory, or in other way offensive. Hence her reply. And if you continue in the thread on down you'll see there was a brief discussion about the semantics of the word vitriol.

So, please, don't start attributing comments indiscriminately - that will only lead to more arguments and less discussion.

I think you're putting a little too much responsibility on Microsoft when you say, can't even get core things, such as graphics drivers, card readers and several other vital parts of an OS fixed and optimized!!!!!!!!

Take a desktop computer that consists of such necessary parts as a case, motherboard, CPU, RAM, HDD/SSD, sound and video cards (sometimes built into the motherboard), DVD drive, various and sundry extras like the printer, keyboard, mouse, and external drives, and finally, Windows 10.

Microsoft did not build anything in that computer; they supplied the operating system only. Yes, Microsoft is responsible for Windows; however, they are not responsible for making each individual part inside work with Windows. It's the OEM's job to supply whatever driver, etc. it takes to make that part work.

I don't know exactly how it works, but it's my understanding that Microsoft supplies the "necessary information" to OEMs so they can build drivers for their product. If something goes wrong, it's the OEM's responsibility to fix the problem; if something goes terribly wrong, generally Microsoft engineers and OEM engineers work together to find a solution.

Windows 10 is not flawless; In fact, no one I know of has ever said it was flawless. The Insider Program was created to recruit people of all walks of life and with all kinds of computer skills so maybe, just maybe, we could help Microsoft to catch any flaws or bugs that might show up.

I am at a loss as to where the information that Microsoft is or has been ignoring vital parts of the OS for months and months at a time is coming from. In fact, I think Microsoft has been rather forthcoming on known issues, as shown below.

    Known Issues

If you have attempted to install Build 18936 or Build 18941 and experienced install failures with error code c1900101 – see below section regarding this issue.

There has been an issue with older versions of anti-cheat software used with games where after updating to the latest 19H1 Insider Preview builds may cause PCs to experience crashes. We are working with partners on getting their software updated with a fix, and most games have released patches to prevent PCs from experiencing this issue. To minimize the chance of running into this issue, please make sure you are running the latest version of your games before attempting to update the operating system. We are also working with anti-cheat and game developers to resolve similar issues that may arise with the 20H1 Insider Preview builds and will work to minimize the likelihood of these issues in the future.

Some Realtek SD card readers are not functioning properly. We are investigating the issue.

Tamper Protection may be turned off in Windows Security after updating to this build. You can turn it back on. In August, Tamper Protection will return to being on by default for all Insiders.

On occasion, the candidate selection in prediction candidate window for the Japanese IME doesn’t match with the composition string. We are investigating the issue.
Quite frankly, I'd like to see any other issues showing up in Build 18941 so I can check to see if I have 'em and report or upvote any I might have that have already been reported.

I looked at ME for over a year until I could afford computer compatible with XP. It worked fine.

I tried ME for a week, but it was so unstable that I switched back to 98SE. ME was very fast, but I could not live with the instability. Later I started to use 2000, while rock solid, it was very slow for gaming. For everything else it was perfect.

In the end I triplebooted 98SE, 2000 and Linux, where I mostly gamed on Linux and 98SE. Linux was insanely fast for gaming on my dual CPU system.

I had only AMD K6 155 at that time, couldn't run NT 2000 or XP, only when I switched to first Athlon 64 that I could switch to XP.
