Well, it's time to drag Little Lenovo (14" Lappy) to the desk and try upgrading her. I'm not sure if I have 18936 on her yet, so this should be a trip.

She's a dual boot machine too, so there should be one or two CUs for 1903/18362 as well.

Crossing fingers, toes, hair, eyes . . .

What did I say to upset you, Doogie? I thought I was defending everyone's right to have this or that part of Windows; don't take it out just because I don't care for it.
No Wynona you didn't upset me, you just said it like it is

Whew! Because I take the definition of "vitriol" as being especially nasty and caustic. I hope I never come across like that, although sometimes I'd like to.

Well, well, well . . . I just had the GSOD!

    Driver-IRQL-Not-less or equal

    What failed: L1C63x64.sys

Build 18941 and this is the first time in awhile I've had this happen!

At the time, I was online in this thread and running the Windows Command Script from UUPDump.

    Going back in ...

And ... to add insult to injury, Little Lenovo says there aren't any updates to be had, although she's on 18912! I guess I've been ignoring her and she's not happy with me.

The Windows Script I was running was for a student's computer that tells her updates are available, but doesn't go any further.

I guess we'll both use the flash drive to update hers to 18362 and mine to 18941. Sheesh! When it rains, it pours!

Edit: So, for whatever the reason, Windows decided to change my Windows Update options and updates were in limbo. I was told there were updates, but when I checked for 'em, they didn't show up. Go figure!

Once I straightened that mess out, Little Lenovo got an update notice for 18941 and away she went when I told her OK.

Build 18941 installed quite nicely, although I really didn't expect it to. Now it's time for another update ...

Vitriol is actually acid, not caustic

Strange. I got 2 free copies of 10 Pro when I started with Insider and kept them through motherboard changes on both computers. Had to rely on Activation Troubleshooter on one, but both are still activated (Fast on one and Skippy now on the other). Even though they don't have expiration dates when final versions are installed, I'm guessing failure to keep them on the Insider program would result in Windows vanishing after awhile.
What ever happened to the computer caused the HDD to get corrupted. Since I replaced it with a new computer that had a OEM version of Windows 10 Pro I used that to rejoin. My Insider laptop came with Windows 10 Home and I didn't see the need to justify the cost to upgrade to Pro. As mentioned in the post I linked to When Windows 10 was released to the public If one had the Free copy of the Insider Pro the could continue using it for new Insider Builds. If one wanted to drop out and they didn't use a Windows 7 or 8 key they had to reinstall their previous version.
