LOL, looks like I've been away from IP builds for 5 months in a row. I got bored of all these minimal upgrades that just took forever to install. Going from 18841 to 18941 now...so far so good...

Any new features to test that does not exist in 1903?

I have to agree with @Winuser's argument. Even if it is known that Insiders Builds are prone to have bugs, how on God's green earth one is supposed to test something that cannot install. At a bare minimum, there shouldn't be any issue in installing those Insiders builds to be able to test them, otherwise this is "suicide"...My two cents' worth!!!

Mmmm, an "interesting" WU install. Went through numerous re-cycles of getting ready, installing, downloading etc etc. After over two hours I left it and went to bed! This morning it finally finished after 10 min and I got the Restart prompt. Went smoothly from there with the usual 9 min to login.

    Anyway, all looks good now.

Emotionally, I agree. But...there always is one isn't there...One of THE most critical issues in pushing out a major update/upgrade to - literally - billions of non-geek average users is that the installation routine works and accommodates the innumerable permutations of hardware and software "out there" in the wild.

Perhaps...just perhaps...MS would like to find how, what, when, and where - via A/B testing - that the installation routines fail. That "could" be the reason that some of the Insider builds have issues installing for some users and not for others. That various configurations of hardware and software will result in various installation failures AND report back via that villainous telemetry WHAT happened to a particular hardware/software configuration may well be what MS is interested in looking at. In other words, their focus - at this stage in the development process - may not be "successful" installations for all. But, rather finding out what doesn't work...

    ...just sayin...

I more or less understand your point about different configurations for the billions of users out there, but in my way of seeing things, MS can at least put a safeguard hold for Insiders as they do for stable releases when something is wrong with one's machine configuration.

Respectfully, that is exactly opposite my point. From MS's perspective, the point is not providing Insiders with safety from failed installations. But, rather finding out what problems exist in the wild with what they are developing.

Although, I grant you that once a given hardware/software is "known" to present an installation failure, it would be at least courteous on their part to put a block in place for that configuration.

...although again...they would need to continue testing against that particular configuration to determine at what point they have resolved the installation issues...

A contradiction here from the installation notes....Updating did not work initially yet finally Updated not having altered anything as explained in my post #68....how to explain that to feedback hub?

What MS needs to work on is making safe mode safe mode again. All hardware has basic standard feature sets that work exactly the same everywhere. Installing a new build should never be an issue.

You see, that is the point, it is kind of going in circles and that takes us back to square One. How can you test those Insiders builds if you cannot install them.
